Centring on the shocking opening night of Pygmalion - the first time that the word ‘bloody' was used on the British stage - it also explores the passionate love-hate relationship between Shaw; his leading man, Sir Herbert Beerbohm Tree and his leading lady, Mrs Patrick Campbell, who played the 19-year-old Eliza Doolittle at the age of 49.

Really Good

I really enjoyed this particular production of Pygmalion. The actors were wonderful, at times it was a little hard to hear but it was very good, very well voiced. I did not, however like 'The "B" Story', the bonus at the end of Pygmalion. The voice of Shaw annoyed me and I felt took it away from the great play I had just listened too. But Pygmalion was excellent!

writing is fine, ending leaves much to be desired

I know I'm divided , as many critics are, as to the ending. it seems there needs to be a resolution, even a slight one would be appreciated. The play drags you in with mighty speeches and emotion, and to do that without a hint of resolution seems unfair. But it is what the playwright wanted it to be, so there it is.

Great version

I have always loved the movie My Fair Lady, so it was nice to hear the original. It was a great performance. Very quick listen.
