White Christian Nationalism has created this partisanship which built an invisible wall between conservatives and liberals and between black people and white people. It is destructive to democracy. "Puzzle Pieces, God's Mural-the Solution to White Christian Nationalism" discusses the invisible wall which causes the partisanship and how to tear it down. It is a spiritual problem and the 19 Puzzle Pieces identified when taken together show God's Mural which is the solution to the problem of White Christian Nationalism.

The root cause of America's problem today is "White Christian Nationalism." White Christian Nationalism fueled the attack on the Capitol on January 6th and is what got Donald Trump elected in the first place in 2016. It is a political ideology and cultural framework that seeks to merge American and Christian identities. It suggests that real Americans are Christians and that true Christians hold a particular set of political beliefs. It has created a deep seated partisanship among Americans largely based on political party and race. We are clearly having a battle over social hierarchy and white patriarchy.

White Christian Nationalism uses the veneer of Christianity to point not to the Lord Jesus Christ but to a political figure, party or ideology. It overlaps and provides cover for White Supremacy and racial subjugation. It creates a cultural belonging limited to certain people associated with the founding of the United States, namely native born white Christians.

Understanding White Christian Nationalism is imperative to both dismantling white supremacy and preserving religious freedom for all. It is dangerous to our faith and to our country and is a gross distortion of our Christian faith. Christianity does not unite Americans. Our belonging in American Society must never depend on how we worship, what we believe or how we identify religiously. Our Constitution provides a foundational commitment to religious freedom for all.

Christians have a special responsibility to warn us of the dangers of White Christian Nationalism. A clear view is seen in Kristin Kobes du Mez's book, "Jesus and John Wayne" :"Christian Nationalism is the belief that America is God's chosen nation and must be defended as such and thus serves as a powerful predictor of intolerance toward immigrants, racial minorities, and non-Christians. It is linked to opposition to gay rights and gun control, to support for harsher punishments for criminals to justification for the use of excessive force against black Americans in law enforcement situations, and to traditionalist gender ideology."

"Puzzle Pieces, God's Mural-the Solution to White Christian Nationalism" attempts to identify the primary, significant pieces that every true Christian must know about and then choose which way they wish to go.
