Publisher's summary

I've never been in love. I've never had an orgasm, but I've faked plenty. I want to experience love. Real, passionate love. I don't want to die.

It's funny what blurts out of your mouth when the plane you're on is going down, and I didn't hold back with my seat mate when my plane decided to crash. My hysterical confessions didn't faze the muscular stranger that sat beside me. In fact, he promised if we survived, he'd give me my first orgasm.

We survived. I came. And then he left without telling me who he was.

On the first day of my job, I stood in front of the Vancouver Wolves hockey team and called out a number. #33. Imagine my shock when he skated forward.

Max is an incredible hockey player, whose wild, out-of-control antics have almost derailed his career. So many secrets shroud his past and continue to threaten his future. Now he's my secret. And that secret could ruin everything.

Contains mature themes.

A roller coaster!!

I really enjoyed the book. The beginning definitely drew my attention and I loved it. It did slowly get frustrating for me at some moments. I was getting mad and really wanted Rory to just scream and yell at certain people to “fuck off” but guess she’s a stronger person than me haha. Honestly I still didn’t like Katrina at all even at the end. Her attitude and persistence kept me agitated. Max frustrated me too at moments, but I know his storyline was cruel so he had his worries. Honestly Rory was such the strong character throughout this whole story. She was the true hero and took care of everything by herself.
I think it’s kind of interesting how in the beginning Rory was the nervous scared girl and Max was this strong protective “not a baby man” person but in the end Rory became this strong protective shield while Max was in his feelings and sensitive. I did enjoy the whole book! Definitely recommend it!

Meh

I had high hopes for this book after the main characters met in the first chapters however, the story lacked development until almost 75% through the book then it didn’t really give us a glimpse into the future of the main characters. I did not enjoy that the book was not duel point of view. I thought the book could have been condensed and we could have seen Moore struggle early on in the book to make it better.

Great Writer

I think Odette Stone is a great storyteller with good characters. I actually thought the big secret could of been Rory was adopted and Max was actually the son of her father. The book was very good with hot sex scenes.

Excellent

Loved it. It is longer than most books I have listened to. But it has an important message. That message is revealed in the last few chapters. There are some very tender moments as well as shocking ones. The narrator did a fantastic job. I am continuing with this series.

I listened to this book at 1.50x

"Max is an incredible hockey player, whose wild, out-of-control antics have almost derailed his career. So many secrets shroud his past and continue to threaten his future. Now he's my secret. And that secret could ruin everything.  "

Good story, easy to get pulled into it, and not stop listening to it.

I love sport stories so this was right up my alley.

The vocal artist Madeleine Dauer did a great job.

Good story but mediocre writing

Wondering if this is the author’s first book. She seems uncomfortable with the sex scenes and dirty talk, which she could have avoided rather than do poorly. The story itself was very good if you can overlook those scenes. Rory’s parents were very annoying and she matured unbelievably fast. Kept my attention.

Start listening early in the day - you won’t want to put it down.

So much more than a sports romance. Full of content and not even a little verbose.

I could not stop listening. I ended up turning it off and going to bed a 4:15 am, simply to get back up one hour later. I could not sleep until I finished it.

The narrator did an amazing job. I would put her among my favorites - including Andi Arndt. BUT just how many male voices is a female voice supposed to produce?

Thank you - it was great.

This was a refreshing twist for a hockey romance

It all started when Rory met Max on a plane to Vancouver. She didn’t know much about Max but they connected after their flight was in peril. Once they landed in Vancouver they went their separate ways until Rory realized that Max was a new player on her father’s hockey team who was surrounded by drama from his prior team back in Minnesota. All Max wanted to do was play hockey and leave the drama behind but other forces came into play to try to lie and manipulate the truth of what happened in Minnesota. Rory thought some things very fishy and later understood the truths of the past that were actually lies as she battled for Max’s true actions to be revealed to the public so he could be embraced by his new team and the fans in Vancouver.

ah loved it...great sports Romance!

Both the author and narrator were new to me and I loved them both! This story was full of angst, love, had its steamy parts, a great storyline that kept my attention from the start, and some twists towards the end that I didn't see coming. Definitely recommend! You will not be disappointed!
