Publisher's summary

A highly respected psychiatrist challenges the media narrative that President Trump is mentally unstable.

The media and his political foes frequently attack Donald Trump with claims that he is mentally unfit for the presidency. Increasingly, his critics label him "unstable", "crazy", or "insane". But these armchair diagnoses have more to do with a dislike of his policies than any real clinical analysis.

In Psychologically Sound, Sheldon Roth, MD, draws on decades of psychiatric and academic experience to reveal President Trump in a holistic manner - an understandable, stable, even likable person. What emerges is a complex portrait of a man who has been effective and successful in business and politics, but who also has regrets about failings in his personal life.

Drawing on little-known aspects of Trump's background, such as his love for the film Citizen Kane as well as his decades-long friendship with positive-thinking advocate Reverend Norman Vincent Peale, Dr. Roth paints a portrait of a man who is remarkably complicated, often brilliant, comfortingly human, and most importantly, of completely sound mind.

Valuable Insights Into The Real Donald Trump!

Unlike mainstream media psychologists and psychiatrists who are "hired hands" used to disparage President Donald Trump's mental health, "Psychologically Sound" by Dr. Sheldon Roth, MD, is a highly original and very well-written objective assessment of Trump’s psychological dynamics that is not based on either supporting or rejecting his presidency. Trump the human being is analyzed, and both positives and negatives emerge authentically within the context of the man living in relationship to himself and others.
I purchased both the Audible and Kindle versions because I can process the information more easily and completely through the immersion of synchronized audio-visual inputs. The audio book narration is clear, engaging, and inviting, so the synchronization is effective and enjoyable.
There are many interesting facts, patterns and insights that I picked up as I read about his background, sources of inspiration, relationships, communication style, similarities and differences between the public persona and the private man, and a variety of personality traits that combine to paint a vibrant moving picture of a very complex, unique individual who happens to be the most powerful person in the world.
I genuinely believe that "Psychologically Sound" fills a distinctly important place in current events, and because of the ethically professional way it was written - without positive or negative bias - will endure and pass the test of time. I highly recommend this book to anyone who wants to understand the real Donald Trump, rather than believing caricatures presented by the media or by other less knowledgeable sources, whether they're well-meaning or not.

Measured & Balanced Look at a Complicated Figure

I found this book to be more of an intriguing psychological portrait than a political endorsement. The author takes a look at Trump’s interior world and value system. The narration is excellent. I really enjoyed this book.
