Three novels from comic master PG Wodehouse, featuring the incomparable Psmith!

First, in Psmith In the City, Psmith takes on the world of commerce, in his genial efforts to reform bank manager Mr. Bickersdyke. Then, in Psmith Journalist, he converts twee family periodical "Cosy Moments" into the yellowest of yellow journals and thwarts the New York gangs in his crusade to unmask the owner of the notorious Pleasant Street tenements. And finally, in Leave It to Psmith, Psmith pursues distressed damsel Eve to Blandings Castle - the seat of fluffy-minded peer Lord Emsworth - in the guise of an absconded Canadian poet; and from the best possible motives embroils himself in a plot to steal Lady Constance Keeble's fabulous diamond necklace....

I wish I were Psmith, sometimes. Well read and entertaining throughout, I enjoyed these three novels thoroughly.

Great Fun

Blandings does not disappoint, even bereft of its Empress. Lord Emsworth is at this point in his 50’s besotted with flowers, yew alleys and the like, rather than with a pig. His querulous striving for peace and tranquility is, even at this early (1923) appearance, a lodestone of his existence.

The inimitable Wodehousian way of inserting an aside whilst en route to a plot point.

The character Psmith, is great to watch in any circumstance. He is verbose and never lacks a retort. Great book!

Hilarious Classic

Better to read Leave It To Psmith by other narrator. Wodehouse is brilliant. I enjoy these better when I read the books. Narrator doesn’t make word errors, but no voice variation between characters. No acting the parts by narrator. Listen only if you have no time to read. Psmith is my favorite Wodehouse character and this doesn’t do him justice.

Boring narration
