Not enough mystery, but engaging characters

I'd call this a romance with a bit of mystery. It started too slowly for my taste, but the narration was excellent and I enjoyed the characters, so I stayed with it. I received a free copy from Audiobook Boom and am leaving an honest and voluntary review.

Lovely Sweet story!

I really enjoyed this story. Being a dog person and a guide dog handler, I was intrigued, and fascinated with all the dog interaction. Of course i loved the romance and suspense as well. I hope the unresolved thing works out for Peyton. I also thought it was a lovely touch adding a new puppy to the family. The narration was great. I am totally loving this series and would love to see more audio books. I would highly recommend this book, and in fact, any book in this series. I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.

Awesome Listen!!

Protecting Peyton is such a good heartwarming listen by Becky Muth. I love The Gold Coast Retrievers series. Each book is a standalone listen, with tie-in to a character or pet. Gilda is the featured pet in this book, and such an endearing dog. Peyton and Kurt are the featured couple in this book. The author did a great job with the imagery and details. I loved the storyline and thought that Jennifer Gilmour was great bringing the characters to life, I requested this review copy audiobook and have voluntarily written this review. I will definitely listen to more books by this author and narrator.

"Sometimes Lovelines Are Thicker than Bloodlines"

Rescue dog, feisty handler, cop; I was laughing out loud by the second chapter even though the hero had nearly been killed. Major drama leavened by deft and quirky handling of dialogue and personal interactions. You now know everything you need to for full enjoyment of this fun mystery and romance! But WAIT! There's MORE! I got to listen to Jennifer Gilmour's narration of this delightful story--icing on the cake.

Love Retrievers!

Never could resist a book with a Golden Retriever included. This was no exception. A charming mystery with a twisty plot and a search and rescue dog with excellent senses. Great narration by Jennifer Gilmour—enjoyed her voice and pacing. This book was given to me for free at my request and I provided this voluntary review. Sweet Enjoyable Story

I received this book for free. I am voluntarily leaving this review and all opinions expressed herein are mine. This is the fourth book in the Gold Cost Retrievers series. I have not read any of the previous books in this series. I had no trouble following along and understanding the motivations of the characters. This is a standalone story. Here, Peyton has a golden retriever who does search and rescue. One day at the beach, the dog, Gilda, rescues a surfer who is less than pleased and lets Peyton know it. Soon, Peyton's brother Kurt disappears. When law enforcement doesn't seem to be investigating, she turns to the very same man for help. First, the dog was completely adorable! I really enjoyed the search and rescue aspect of this story. The story is a mix of romance and mystery. It's light and an enjoyable way fo spend an afternoon. The narrator did a great job. She has a pleasant and easy voice.

Adorable Dog

Protecting Peyton The Gold Coast Retrievers, Book 4 : Becky Muth A sweet cozy featuring a golden retriever search and rescue dog. Mystery, romance on the gold coast. This is book 4 in the series, it made me go back and get the earlier books. The narration was well done. The characters were well portrayed. When I began listening I recognized the voice from "Tornado Warning." I enjoyed Jennifer Gilmour's voice and have listened many times and am sure I will with this title as well. I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.

Great Read

Protecting Peyton (Gold Coast Retrievers #4) was a great read by Becky Muth. Peyton has trained her dog, Gilda, to be a search and rescue dog. Gilda saved Kurt's life. Peyton's brother goes missing and she believes that the local police aren't doing everything they should be in order to find him. She asks Just, who is a police officer on leave, to help her find her brother. This was a great book and I loved Peyton and Kurt's story.
