Fabulous book by a new to me author and narrator!

This was my first book by Bridget Brislin and narration by J.T. Farrell and I was not disappointed! I have read and listened to a number of Sci-Fi Romances and this has been on of my favorites. The characters, especially Zonn, have a depth to them more so than some of the other books I've read. Zonn is haunted by the death of his mate in childbirth, he not only lost his beloved wife that day, but his son. He goes off to war for ten long years before returning to his home planet, but he knows that the females of his planet will be ruthless in their perusal of him. He needs to find a female to meet his needs, without growing attached to, so he purchases Mia from a slave trader. He finds out just how wrong he is when he finds himself developing feelings for the small human female and her journey.
I enjoyed the journey of Zonn as he battled through the memory of his late wife and coming to terms with his feelings for Mia. Their love is beautiful and J.T. brings the story to life with his brilliant narration. This will not be my last by these two, I am looking forward to many more from these two!

Great Romance: If Written 20 Years Ago

So back in the day there where a lot of romances where the white lady was captured by some dark Indian warrior or some dark something. Anything so long as its big dark and male. The whole King Kong concept of the little cute white girl taken by a huge dark beast is a big turn off for me. Mia and her pale skin, eyes, and hair being really played up as so pure, delicate, and better than the other women of his own breed was obnoxious. I tend not to like stories where darker tones are looked down upon or as beastly.

If that concept didn't feel dated enough the language and dialogue certainly did. This may have been the delivery of the narrator, but her Warlord seemed so old. I was getting the whole "good touch vs. bad touch" vibes. Too creepy. And him spanking her and telling her to behave was just....*barf*


I'm not really sure about continuing this series. Especially if I have to hear one more time about how beautiful her being pale and pink is. There are some great aspects in this story too...like the whole piercing he gave her...nice touch. But the main elements of this story needs an update.

A Gripping Dark Romance that Delivers.

A Warlord without anymore wars to feast his lust of murder and mayhem. He left his home planet of Ceres 10 years ago, driven away but the Loss of his beloved and their unborn child. He left with a cold dead heart and two promises to himself. 1) He will never love again 2) He will never have any youngling . But now, there are no more wars and he returns home.He knows that the females , on Ceres , will seek to gain access to his riches ,his Rank and Status. The Warlord plans to solve his problem by engaging a Pleasure Slave to impersonate his Consort before going home . This fake consort must be sexually experienced , low IQ , submissive, sexually compatible , and Sterile. However Flesh Dealing isn’t very trustworthy these Days . The Warlord received Mia . But you see Mia only has two traits that the Warlord demanded . Mia just may revive his dead heart and heal his fractured soul.
PLEASE NOTE : submission and Domination power dynamics with spanking and bondage elements. J.T Farrell delivers the listener into this awesome story by Bridget Brislin . I absolutely Loved this Amazing Listen from start til finish. Definitely found an awesome new author and vocal actor. 🌸

Property of the Warlord

From slave to love. I will give you a warning that this book contain some triggers but for those of you who have no problems with that, then this book will be a fun listen for you. I enjoyed this book and am happy to know that I now have a new author as well as narrator to enjoy.

Boring

At first the story was enjoyable and while not entirely unique did feel interesting. Then the story is kind of thrown out the window for a while. Everything gets bogged down in this superficial bonding relationship that is going on, no other characters are introduced that matter and it just becomes very repetitive. Its like we are expected to gloss over the whole, "Hey, I'm a slave." bit and just get on to the "He's good deep down" part. Also, the guy is an idiot not realizing that the slaver constantly was lieing so everything he said was up for question.

The audio performance just doesn't hold up. Not a bad performer, just doesn't fit the setting. Also, a dou narration would of been but with all the POV swapping.
