The Secret Histories novels deliver "a terrific, adventurous blend of genres...[and] high-octane heroism", (SFRevu) wrapped up in a thrilling and dangerous supernatural world that only New York Times best-selling author Simon R. Green could dream up....
Call me Drood, Eddie Drood. Some know me as Shaman Bond and most simply don' t want to know me at all. For centuries, my family has been keeping the things that lurk on the darker side of existence as far away as possible from humans like you, without you even knowing we' re there. Unfortunately for us, not everybody appreciates what we Droods do. Recently, I personally managed to survive yet another attempt on my life, but the rest of my relatives weren' t so lucky. My parents are missing in action. My grandfather has been murdered. And the future of my family lies in the iron grasp of the Lady Faire, an incredibly seductive, mysterious, and powerful being. She possesses an ancient object that can save them. I have to steal it from her. Easy enough to say, difficult - and very, very dangerous - to do....

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
I will always recommend Secret Histories books because they are always great fun. This one is no different. Full of crazy characters and odd problems another caper gets sorted. Starting with a personal tragedy, Eddie must deliver an artifact to save the parents. But it is never that easy for Eddie. The action and obstacles keep piling up until the ending. My only reason for not giving 5 stars is I felt we really should have been at the end of the parental arcs for Eddie and Mollie but no joy. It is still a great listen.Another win for Eddie and Mollie

Would you try another book from Simon R. Green and/or Gideon Emery?
Oh yes I enjoy Simon R Green the Darkside series and Secret Histories series are very good but each series has weaker entriesWould you be willing to try another book from Simon R. Green? Why or why not?
Yes Mr Green is very talented and I have been meaning to try Hawk and Fisher series just not enough timeWhat three words best describe Gideon Emery’s voice?
Very good on differentiation on the Characters voices. If this book were a movie would you go see it?
Oh YesAny additional comments?
Probably one of the weaker stories. But still its Eddie and Molly against the world much as in the First book. To me it seemed like the ending was anti climactic in this book. But it didn't seem to do much to advance the over reaching plot of why Molly's parents were killed by the Droods. Though the Matriarch does seem to have plans for Eddie from beyond the Grave. That could prove interesting. Looking forward to the next book!Still not bad

-Everyone knows secrets but keeps them from Eddie because “secrets aren’t mine to tell”
-Eddie and Molly come upon a massacre, by unknown someones, with no survivors
-There’s one more climactic battle at the very end, full of redshirt massacres until Eddie saves the day
-The villain is revealed in the final chapter, and stops to monologue and explain the whole nefarious plan
-Oh look, another heretofore never mentioned Drood … who's super, duper dangerous
-And look, another creature/adversary who can see the supposedly unseeable Drood Torc
-Look, an object of immense power from the previous book … is then easily defeated, and replaced by a new object of immense power … which is the new MacGuffin to move the story along
-is that yet another time travel plot? Yes. Yes it is.
Even the various Nightside crossovers felt phoned in, with yet another mention of Deadboy in his purple jacket in the midst of the melee. I did like the little bit with Harry Oblivion though … “nuts!”
Shampoo, rinse, repeat
