With Joe Gunther and his squad trailing behind the grisly research results of the hit team and the deadly killers closing in on Rachel, Gunther has little time to find and protect Rachel before she ends up in the same grisly state as her cousin.

Never Thought

I never thought I would be happy to have Tom T back but oh my goodness I am. This story was better and it is one I wished had gone on a chapter or two farther. I wanted to hear the details of the Senator, his goon and the hit people being surprised by learning they were all going to prison.

Message to editors and writer not taking that next step was not smart.

Another Great Gunther Novel

Yet another great audiobook by Archer Mayer! He really knows how to keep you on the edge of your seat while listening to his books. This book really stirs up memories of Joe’s time in the military. While having to protect his new ladies daughter for a seemingly innocent project her uncle was helping her with for her college course until the wrong people find out about this fabulous project that can ruin the lives of those still alive after what was witnessed while over seas. Can Joe save the girls life and solve the crime while keeping his new main squeeze? You will have to listen to find out for yourself! Once again Willie really pulls at your heart strings when it comes to him and Sammies daughter Emma, it is beyond cute and exactly what Willie needed to change his ways. Can’t wait to start listening to the next in the series

Still great story

The story itself is the only reason I'm still coming back for more because only a few voices are still being used. It just doesn't have the depth and feeling of being there like it did the beginning before we had the hand off to the other "narrators"; they were not good and should never have been used. I'm not going to give a higher rating while the voices are still being butchered. I was so excited for Taylorson to come back but he's been copying the other two that butchered the books to the point I almost stopped listening but hung in there knowing Taylorson was coming back. Now he's butchering Joe/Batman. Go back to the right Joe stop the stupidity.

Great story over all

I'm very upset with this cliff hanger ending. You can write a great story like this and then leave me with no justice.

Surprise Ending

I wasn't prepared for the surprise ending, but I like it. Since I like Willie, it made it even better.

Willy the ever indomitable hero

I love the way Mayor describes real settings and our seasons
to help me feel proud being a Vermonster.

Half love half not

The voices are mostly back… the story is good… ending… too abrupt. Did Mr. Mayor get tired of writing? Still a good listen. Love the characters.

Gunther keeps getting better!

Forget the naysayers! This truly is one of my favorites. It has it all! Just when you think it’s over, it’s not. And the ending, to me, was perfect!

Ending Sucks!!

I definitely wanted more to end this book!! I definitely wanted more of the conclusion to be filled out to the end!!

Another great book

Great book - However I would have liked a better rap up of the final chapter. Left story unfinished for us to figure out.
