Publisher's Summary

No project management training? No problem!

In today’s workplace, employees are routinely expected to coordinate and manage projects. Yet, chances are, you aren’t formally trained in managing projects - you’re an unofficial project manager.

FranklinCovey experts Kory Kogon, Suzette Blakemore, and James Wood understand the importance of leadership in project completion and explain that people are crucial in the formula for success.

Project Management for the Unofficial Project Manager offers practical, real-world insights for effective project management and guides you through the essentials of the people and project management process:

  • Initiate
  • Plan
  • Execute
  • Monitor/Control
  • Close

Unofficial project managers in any arena will benefit from the accessible, engaging real-life anecdotes, memorable - "project management proverbs”, and quick reviews at the end of each chapter.

If you’re struggling to keep your projects organized, this audiobook is for you. If you manage projects without the benefit of a team, this audiobook is also for you. Change the way you think about project management - "project manager" may not be your official title or necessarily your dream job, but with the right strategies, you can excel.

This audiobook is expertly narrated by Teri Schnaubelt, an audible listener favorite. It includes a supplementary PDF, which contains all graphics and worksheets referenced in the audiobook.

PLEASE NOTE: When you purchase this title, the accompanying PDF will be available in your Audible Library along with the audio.

Can't open the accompanying pdf

They refer to sections of the pdf which I can't open. It's frustrating to read thru the whole book and not have access to the accompanying pdf.

Useful, Well-Done Book (and a Great Listen)

I found this audiobook to be incredibly educational--a perfect introduction to PM and also useful for those who've already been exposed to it. The book is well written and the narrator is a pro. I received this product in exchange for an honest review. I didn't have any problem accessing the supplementary PDF from my Audible library.

The Poor Quality PDF prevents 5 stars

This is an extremely good book, well structured and presented with valuable information and insight. Unfortunately, the accompanying PDF which is referenced at every turn is extremely poor in quality! I have tried multiple times to get Covey or Audible to get a better one. When it’s ready, I will update this review and fully recommend the book.

Super aimed at corporate slaves

While the author starts out saying this is a general guide for people managing things such as weddings or parties, I highly disagree. As a person who have never set foot in a corporate office I had no idea what kind of problems she was talking about most of the time. I hoped for some general advice on outsourcing, delegation, morale management etc due to my online businesses. There were some useful tips, but nothing groundbreaking.

Really Useful for those involved in projects

I fought this a really useful insight, both in terms of the technical tools and the personal skills required to deliver projects. Fingers crossed it will help me deliver some.

some books work as audio books

this book may work as a written book but doesn't work as an audio book for me sorry. reading bullet points, needs visual aids and I listen while exercising so it just doesn't work.

Short and sweet but just the ticket!

I’ve been searching for a book like this for a long time. Too much of project management is focussed to the professional PM. The opening here acknowledged today’s realities for knowledge workers, and, being a Franklin Covey production, led the dialogue from the people leadership perspective, with the process secondary. This was magic. The frequent connections back to PMBOK reinforced that the PM methodology expounded is the ‘official’ methodology, so listeners are getting what they paid for. One of the best business books I’ve encountered in a long time.
