Disappointing

This book was a disappointment. it is really just a series of book articles. I feel mislead by all the other reviews here

Informative and Inspiring

When I first discovered Joanna’s podcast I knew I found someone who was both inspiring and informative. This very same book, or in this case, audiobook, an extension of the podcast, does the same. I listen to this whenever I need a push or in a funk. Thank you Joanna for helping me with my own productivity. More power to you and The Creative Penn Podcast!

Highly recommend

Penn gives great advice on many different aspects of the writer's career and how to maintain productivity without burning out. It's a book I'll be recommending to my author friends.

This book changed my writing

Full disclosure, I'm a huge fan of Joanna Penn. I have most of her non-fiction books and have put her knowledge and suggestions to work in my own writing. Besides being charming, she's not judgey in the least. This was just what I needed to get going and stu productive in my book.

Another Must-Have Reference Book by Joanna Penn

Joanna Penn never disappoints. Productivity for Authors is another example of the breadth of the author’s knowledge. I LOVE that she narrated this one. The book contains great tips and useful reminders. Highly recommend!

Repetitive

Some good advice, but most of what the author says is already in some of her other books. What I don't like is how she takes the opportunity to promote these other books and her website several times. Also, I usually like her jolly personality and the way she smiles as she talks, but in this book, she appears to be the complete opposite. Very disappointed, but I still like her.

Some helpful advice

Overall, I enjoyed this less than I did the others I've listened to so far from Joanna Penn. Maybe some of the help and advice could have been condensed a bit, but overall I found it interesting and helpful. Great for anyone struggling to get the words on the page!

Another of my Go To Books

I have this one in my audio library and whenever I'm washing up I ask Alexa to play it to me. It's good whenever you need a boost of kick in the pants or hit a writing slump. I've been following Joanna's podcast for years and am a patron, but I got this book long before that. Great investment if you are considering a life as an author.

Wow

This book spoke to me on so many levels. I was having so many eureka moments listening to it, not to mention, when it talked about comparing yourself to other authors, which was something I did quite often. Fantastic audiobook, which Penn narrates well.
