I love a little BDB tease in between books. This was a pretty action packed story that kept me on my toes the entire book. Ahmare is a badass female lead character, she doesn't need any help, she just walks in guns ablaze! I loved how she put her brother and then Duran first. True female of worth ROFL ;)

Jim will ALWAYS be this series to me even if the BDB aren't in the books, he has to be the narrator imho!

Exciting Adventure

This is a novella set in the BDB world, and of course, I loved it but what was strange is that none of the characters where known.  There wasn’t one brother or Shellan in the bunch.  It was weird, to say the least.  The story was no less fascinating, exciting, and I am left wondering how these characters will fit into the larger BDB world?  Because it seems once Ward writes about them once we will see them again in a big way.  So my curiosity is more than piqued.

I am giving Prisoner of Night: The Black Dagger Brotherhood, Book 17, 5 Boundless stars, although it didn’t fit with the rest of the series, it was still an excellent and exciting adventure.

great story

great story as usual but I wish that the Black Dagger Brotherhood was more involved in the storyline. Wrath makes a cameo appearance at the end.

One of my favorite BDB books

I loved this story. Kept me in suspense and guessing up to the end. One of my favorites in the Black Dagger Brotherhood universe!

It was okay.

I struggled to finish this one.
This one was a show read. It just seemed to take a lot of time to build the story.

Book 17 ?

As a fan of the series it is nice to see new characters added however, what a huge let down that it is not actually book 17 but, just another J.R. Ward book about vampires that mentions the BDB. Not at all happy. What a let down after over a year waiting for the next book in the series.

A small yummy bite of BDB

Ward was clear on her FB page and webiste that this is a novella set in the BDB world. Besides you can know by the length!
I hate bad reviewers Thank the Goddess we got Jim back a narrator- LOVE him!! I thought this was intriquing, had twists you did not see coming, was sexy and sweet. My favorite series maintains its place in my heart.

Good Novella, not really part of the BDB

I suppose this book is tangentially related to the BDB books but only in that it is part of the BDB universe. None of the Brothers are in this book and Wrath is only mentioned a few times, since he’s king.

Otherwise it is a good book with a good storyline. It should just probably be noted as a novella or something from the BDB world rather than as book 17 unless these males are going to become characters in book 18 and this is just the backstory.

Fabulous Book

I love this book (as I do all of MS Ward's books). A spectacular story, with fantastic narration. I highly recommend this book.
