For me, it is just a colorful spread of enchantments, cantrips, blessings, and hexes. And any spell I can see, I can break. I had always expected to grow up to be a ditch-digger. Instead, I was dubbed a hero. Heroes are sent out in the wasteland to slay monsters and to challenge the Demon Lord.

pretty good listen

The MC becomes progressively more naive as time progresses. He starts worldly wise and mature and ends up a silly child.
The power system is interesting for the genre and it was generally fun.

I appreciate the characters development in this story, and it’s incorporating sexual scenes naturally, as opposed to it just be Eros without good plot developments.

Phenomenal Story
Very well thought out, engaging and evolving story. I really enjoyed how this story built up throughout the book and stayed strong. Definitely cant wait for book 2.

Not quite sure what to think.
The story line feels too twisted and it is hard to follow all of the different factions. The mc is facing like 5-6 different enemies and is stumbling along with little to no time to really develop. other than that the mc and side characters are well developed and are not shells.

A terrific book
It is rare when I can't stop listening to a book, and this book has caused me to stay in my car after I reach my destination to find out what happens next. It is an excellent book, and I can't wait to get into the next book in the series. I hate writing reviews, but this book well deserves one, enjoy.

Another great series.
I can’t wait for the third book. David Burke is proving one of the best authors in this genre in my opinion. The characters have depth and the plot line has twists.
