Publisher's summary

Passion is always worth fighting for....

Jori Garrison trains dogs for Warrior Wolf Pack, which provides service animals for disabled veterans. Four years ago she was wrongly convicted of a crime - thanks to her no-good ex- fiancé. Now she just wants to live her life in peace with her beloved dogs. No men, no complications. But it's hard to play it cool when a lethally hot male is on her tail - and the attraction is fierce, mutual, and dangerous....

Lauray "Law" Batisse is a military police veteran who was wounded in Afghanistan. Haunted by the loss of his K-9 partner in combat, he's reluctant to accept a service dog named Samantha into his life. But once he meets her trainer - the gorgeous Jori Garrison - he can't fight his primal instincts. And neither can Jori. This sexy alpha male might be the only man strong enough to unleash her desires. And when unseen enemies start hunting them down, he and his new K-9 partner might be her only hope...to survive.

Really enjoyable

I really liked that the canine in this story also had a voice. It truly added to the charm. Also being a vet myself, there were places where I was truly touched! This is my first time reading this author. I really like her (or his) style!

Primal Force

I liked this story best of the three. Yes, Law was a jerk, but I got to see enough of his thought process/ personal history to see where he was coming from, so I didn't view him as harshly as the guy in the last book. I also loved seeing Sam's POV. Maybe there was a bit of anthropomorphism, but overall it was done very well. I can't decide if I want to go ahead & buy the kindle versions of the remaining 3 books in the series or wait for them to be made into audiobooks. Decisions, decisions!

Good Read!

I really like this audio book because the author also have the Service dog ,Samantha's view too! Granted it was from a person 's thoughts as a dog. But still I liked it.

Good!

The POV's were different in the fact the K-9 has a voice too. Not like a Disney movie, but what u would think a dog would think. And Jeffrey Kafer's deep sexy voice narrating is always a Plus. Definitely worth a credit. 😄

Not DD’s best but good

I just recently discovered DD Ayers and have been obsessed. This story definitely isn’t my favorite though. Reason being -I feel like the other stories kind of built up to the moment things got good between the characters, the anticipation and suspense, almost teasing the listener before things started to get good. This one however I felt had none of that. Seemed sort of like the author was rushing, or as if the story started at the climax, didn’t let it build. Still good. Still great author but not their best work in my opinion.

LOVE the entire series!!

Really enjoyed the 'animal insight' in this book. So hoping there will be a sequel soon.
There is only one thing I would change/ask - the narrator needs to research the correct pronunciation of the German dog commands; specifically 'Hier!' and 'Bleib!'
Hier - sounds like 'here' - we just spell it different😉 and Bleib - is pronounced as if it was spelled 'blieb'😝 - we do that just for the fun of it.
That is the only flaw in a perfect series😎
Anxiously awaiting the next one!!!

Great story

I really enjoyed this read! It pulled me in from beginning to end and I loved watching these two connect and make it past each others walls and help with the healing that was needed for them both. I also loved the addition of getting Sam’s, Law’s dog, perspective at times. We got to see how she felt and interacted and saw going on with her Alpha. It really added to the story for me. It didn’t make it feel unbelievable or add a cartoon/paranormal affect to the story but it was really cool and definitely added to the story for me. I loved Jori and Law! This story had plenty of action and intrigue and I loved the way that there two stories intersected. It really worked and I’m excited for more in this series.
The narrator did a good job with the story and characters as well and added a nice dynamic to it.

Enjoyed it

The book was very good but I have trouble listening to this narrator. Almost every sentence ends on the same note and it grates on my nerves after a while. I like J. D. Ayers books so I tolerate it but I wish he was a little soft with the voices.
