Publisher's summary

He sees you.

First came the floods. Then came the bodies. The victims - strangled, then buried along the shores of the Mississippi - have finally been unearthed years after they disappeared. He remembers every satisfying kill - each woman's terror and agony. But there's only one he truly wanted. And fate has brought her within reach again.

He knows you.

Jaci Patterson was 16 when she found the first golden locket on her porch. Inside were a few strands of hair wrapped around a scrap of bloodstained ribbon. Though the "gifts" kept arriving, no one believed her hunch that a serial killer was at work. Now Jaci has returned home - and the nightmare is starting once more.

And he'll never let you go.

Back then, Rylan Cooper was an arrogant deputy sheriff convinced that Jaci was just an attention-seeking teen. It was a fatal mistake. There's a murderer in their midst, someone determined to settle old scores and keep playing a twisted game. And it won't end until Jaci is his forever....

Excellent mystery!

A little sad family drama, a little small town coziness. A little romance, a little ...murder?! The author does a great job with character building and understands small town community living. A sweet little intrigue with all the trimmings.

Great Book

I really enjoyed this book. I didn't understand some of the negative reviews, as I would recommend this book.

this says optimal, but won't post w/0

(3.5) This one was a little harder to enjoy. The premise is good. I thought several times I knew who it was. I was wrong, then I was right😄. I believe alot of the issue comes from this being book one and laying the ground work. I have always loved Alwxandra Books so I will check out book 2 in this series.

Okay story, terrible narration..

I'm glad this is over. I don't think I could have listened to another chapter of this man's voice. The women sounded like men and he read with no emotions whatsoever.  I can't believe the 3 other reviewers thought Jim Frangione was worth a crap. He was totally boring! He never laughed or yelled or whispered, or anything else! I could have coped with a woman sounding a little manish if he'd had me believing what he was reading.

The story was pretty good, and I must admit I didn't have a clue who the killer was until about 80%.
I liked Rylan and Jaci. They were a good couple but I can't see myself reading anything else by Alexandra Ivy. Every book she write has sex in it and that's not why I read murder mysteries.

So, sex in the story and swearing, but no F-bombs.

As to the narration: I've already stated my opinion of him.

Excellent romantic suspense

This romantic suspense was extremely well written. My usual genre is paranormal romance but this book kept me on the edge of my seat. She dove into the H and h personalities very nicely. This suspense was so good and it had some steam. Definitely worth the read.

Wow! Just when you think you know...you don't!

So many twists and turns keep you waiting to hear what happens next. First you think he did it, then no that logic doesn't work. Finally when you hear who the killer is, it makes you think, well yeah I should have seen that. Good book, great narrator.

Suspense

This author keeps you in suspense from beginning to end. I haven’t been disappointed by any of her books. The narrator is one of the good ones with a pleasant voice, even the different ones for the characters. Not too many of the narrators can carry off the different voices for characters.

Ugh this story just didn't work for me. I got to about 60ish% in the book. Jim did an okay job narrating this one.

Mixed Feelings

A lot going on with no clear line to the villain, well killer villain. There were a lot more people with villainous behavior that did not ‘get got’. I like authors that serve them all up and this one didn’t close all the loops and left some things left. I guess that’s why it’s a series. Hopefully she circles back. That bugged me enough to deduct stars because I exit this book not satisfied.
