Publisher's summary

Twelve years ago, teenager Molly Singer was tried and convicted for murdering her parents. She was sentenced to two consecutive life terms in prison, torn away from her newborn daughter, and forsaken by those closest to her. But now, a series of anonymous letters proclaim her innocence - and point a finger at a deadly conspiracy.

Attorney Dani Trumball specializes in defending the wrongfully imprisoned at the Help Innocent Prisoners Project. But taking Molly's case means taking on a hard-hearted justice system that doesn't like do-overs... and a merciless killer who will do anything to keep a secret history of dirty deals buried. Only the truth will set Molly free and reunite her broken family. And only Dani has any chance of finding it in a showdown that will push her legal talents - and her survival skills - to the very edge.

Lacking

I listened to the first book in the series a while ago and couldn't remember why I didn't get the sequel. After listening to the narrator it came to me. The characters and the story lacked depth and substance. I also thought there were way too many characters to keep track of, and not too much that stood out about them.

Another great story!

Very much enjoyed this novel, really felt for Molly. Nice amount of twists and turns throughout the book. Only one negative, I was getting a bit tired and annoyed at having to hear about Dani's son and his impairment, it was definitely over stated and referred to too many times in the first half of this story and not pertinent to the novel. I'm hoping it's barely mentioned in the next book.

Predictable

Like some other readers I found the suspense to be somewhat lacking in this book. It was hard to stay with it until the end, but in the final chapters there was a slight twist that added some more interest.

:)

Such a great book and I know there will be another, I can't wait! I love listening to books to and from work and Marti has created some great characters that took me away. Love both of the books.

Presumption of Guilt

This is the second book I have read by Marti Greenand the innocence project HIPP. Molly Singer was arrested, tried, and found guilty of murdering her parents. After serving 12 years, her sister Donna contacts HIPP, help innocent prisoners project to see if they can free Molly. Dani an attorney and her team begin looking into what happened 12 years ago, and discover a big cover up by some very powerful people.

I enjoyed the story and characters and could see this actually happening to a young person. Tanya Eby is one of my favorite narrators. I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys a good mystery.

educational with a wonder story line

I had no idea of the process of freeing, an
innocent person. I truly think our justice system is over stressed, with not enough time to establish facts. .
in my ignorance of the system I probably miss
spoke. but this is a book of depth . plus introducing me to William's syndrome.

Great Story! Got me from the beginning!!

What made the experience of listening to Presumption of Guilt the most enjoyable?

The story is captivating. It kept me engaged from the beginning.

The narrator is good on the female voices but the male voices are lacking in authenticity and all males seem to sound similar and even the same.

What other book might you compare Presumption of Guilt to and why?

Not sure.

Who would you have cast as narrator instead of Tanya Eby?

I would cast Jennifer Ikeda. She has an amazing variety of voices that she can do especially male voices and accents.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

I liked all of it.

Any additional comments?

It's a great read. I would also recommend reading her first book Unitended Consequences. It's just as good.

I need more!

I love John Grisham and I have to admit; these are as good or better.
Dear Marti Green, please lock yourself in a room with a coffee pot and toilet and don't come out until you've written 10 more if these. This is my third one and each of them I finished in less than 2 days. They are awesome reads!
