Prescription For Chaos

When Maximus Profitt, CEO of Joyful Health Care, is abducted during the Bay to Breakers race, retired SFPD Detective John Morgan is reluctantly pulled back onto the force.

Meanwhile, when his next-door neighbor, Sara Darby, an overstressed Jessica Fletcher wannabe, and her misfit friends: Vivian Char, a food truck chef, Ivy Drip, a retired nurse drowning in medical debt, and Gloria Wright, an 82-year-old feminist and recovering lawyer, find themselves at the end of their ropes, do what any rational woman would do when faced with injustice. They cover up a murder.

What begins as a series of increasingly absurd decisions escalates into a full-blown catastrophe culminating in Vivian’s food truck serving ethically questionable brisket. The chaos skyrockets as Karen Payne, the vicious queen of the local golf club, threatens to unravel their carefully cooked cover story.

With romance, revenge, and brisket in the mix, these five unlikely senior vigilantes must decide just how far they’re willing to go for justice (or morality) and whether they can escape their mess with their secrets (and sanity) intact.

Auto narrator ruined it

I stuck it out but the narrator mispronounced so many words that it was a constant distraction.

There were many pauses in the wrong places, the inflection didn’t make sense and all of the characters had the same voice and mannerisms.

I still don’t know whether the dis’s name is PePe, Peppy, PeePee, Pepay or Pippy. Ruined it for me.

Dessert, is desert latte is lat. lead is pronounced led…the list is endless
