Decent but lacking

3.5 stars. It's a decent RH but I felt like it was missing something. I enjoyed the mix of romance and action. The world building was definitely lacking an some words seemed overly repeated.

The characters fell a bit flat and I really preferred the guys over Lera. She was a bit too weak and whiny for my taste. I am curious to see where it goes next, I have a feeling about some of it, so i'll continue the series and hope it grabs me more.

Narration was clear and easy to distinguish between characters. The drawback for me was I wasn't fond of some of the character's voices but it's still worth a listen if you like audiobooks.

Defiantly want more!

I enjoyed this book. The world that Alex built is interesting and captivating. Its unique but easy to understand wth Alex's writing. The characters are incredibly different with their personalities, but work together smoothly and easily.

The narration is smooth and easy to listen to, and characters are easy to distinguish. Even the accents are done well.

If you enjoy reverse harems, but also like a good fantasy story then you will like this. Its not "love at first sight" - its more of a building of relationships (which i prefer). Its not overly sexual, but i think the next book will possibly have more. I definitely will be reading the next book in the series.

I enjoyed book 1 of the Power of Five Series. I did like how it wasn't just filled with sex, it had a nice plot to it. I'm excited to listen to the next book in the series. The narrator did a good job as well. She had believable accents and for the most part, her male characters sounded like men, versus a woman just trying to sound like a man. :O) I was given a promotional audio book credit to listen for an honest review.

Great audio book overall

I purchased this book via audio as my family cancelled last minute on a long drive and it was just going to be me. Took me awhile to get over a girl doing different accents. However, if you get through the first 10 minutes by audio as you get used to it and you'll find a great reverse harem novel.

warriors, power, magic & some sexy

The human Leralyn is rescued from her indentured servitude by 4 men from the Fae Realm who claim she is their Quint, or 5th. These Quints come from all 3 kingdoms of the Fae Realm and fight against the Mors, who are also a threat to humans. Lera realizes she wants this family of fighters. River, Slade, Coal, and Tye realize that, not only does she bring them the Power of a full 5, they all want her. She connects with and complements them all. Now, if they can only survive the threat from within Fae.
While there’s nothing wrong with Mei’s voice, it does nothing for me in this recording. Too much of the recording feels like reading instead of narration; not a good thing. I would also appreciate Mei working on her male voices outside of a plummy Brit or Scotch accent.

Enjoyable

The Power of Five was good fun. The storyline was solid, if a bit predictable. The male characters were deep and well-developed, but I found Lera to be a bit weak for my taste. I like a good, strong heroine. The antagonist in the plot was very cliche. I loved Victoria Mei’s narration. She’s always a solid choice for a narrator, IMO, and I was not disappointed. I would recommend this, it is a solid RH and I would continue the series. #AudiobookObsessionReviewer

I really enjoyed this story. I have to admit I wasn't sure how much I would like Lera but she grew on me. I fell a little in love with Coal. I can't wait for more.

Power of a great listen

Love this story . Love how this is not a normal PNR story. If you love Fai stories this one is it First I heard from the author . Love how she took this story and put some twists and turns. The narrator Victoria Mel was great. She has a smooth calming voice .

What doe you get when you have more than one mate . There are 4 fai warriors can’t believe that their mate is a human. They go check on her and can’t believe that she seems not like them. She’s too happy with what she is doing . Lera seems week of character but she has mental strength.
The 4 warriors believe that the fai queen and King picked the wrong female.
Once Lera sees her four mates and falls for them right away . It’s an instant attraction

Very Well Done!!

I loved that Victoria Mei took the time to give each character a different voice!! That's Mark's of a stellar narrator. Good Story, with a cliffhanger that was appropriate...... Can't wait for the 2nd book!! I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.
