Publisher's Summary

Power Italian Verbs is cutting-edge, fast and easy to learn 5 one hour lesson program that teaches authentic Italian verbs in native context. A variety of teaching approaches are employed to encourage the learner to speak. A trained English speaking American instructor guides the listener through the program in English while a trained and educated native Italian speaker teaches beginning to high-intermediate Italian verbs the way they are really spoken in Italy today. Emphasis is given to original sentence creation, effective communication for the most common language situations, and integration of high-frequency vocabulary along with the verbs being taught.

Perfect for Understanding & Speaking Italian Verbs

Any additional comments?

This program really helped me understand how the Italian language is put together by using verbs as the basis. Here I have learned how to form the present, past, future and other tenses in a natural and intuitive way. It's not just verb conjugation. It's verb use, real world stuff, that uses the verbs in context so that it really sticks.

Missing chapters

This book wasn’t for you, but who do you think might enjoy it more?

The book is excellent, except for the jump directly from beginning to advanced material. 10 or 15 minutes into chapter 3, the book jumps from simple present tense expressions to past tense, and using vocabulary that has not been introduced previously.

Would you be willing to try another book from Mark Frobose? Why or why not?

If I could be assured that it would be complete, certainly.

Any additional comments?

Except for the missing material, this is excellent. I certainly hope to acquire a complete version.

Best Way to Learn Grammar

Any additional comments?

When people say the word “grammar” it sends a shiver down my spine. It brings to mind haunting memories of teachers and rules and pain.
Frobose teaches grammar in a totally new and cool way with Power Italian Verbs.
You learn by examples and real-life Italian with a native speaker. Very considerate of the learner, in this case, me. Great program with wonderful narration and explanations followed by native Italian accents and usage.
Highly recommended one of a kind program.

Same stuff

Although on it’s own this program is good, if, like me, you have already purchased the regular accelerated series (1&2), don’t bother with this one. The material is completely lifted from the other programs. Wish I had known that before I bought it.

These are the best!

First the English is done by a native speaker and so is the Italian. This is important but is not always the case. This series is wonderful for learning. Provided excellent drills. I love his language books on Audible!

Better than learning Italian in Italy

This audiobook is ao good that I don’t have words. I already purchased the next level. I fully immersed myself in the Italian Language by taking 3 hour a day lessons in Italy for 3 months however, a lot of the grammar did not “click” for me in the classes. This book filled the gaps and noticeably improved my fluency and accent in a short time. The native speaker in Italian combined with the explication from Mark Frobose was the perfect pairing for me. Finally I can use reflexive verbs and piacere with ease. The second half is more for intermediate but I wouldn’t skip the beginning.

Lacks structure

A bit all over the place. Asks you to try to remember content that hasn't been covered yet.

Excellent but you need background

This is fantastic if you have been doing lessons and need help learning to vocalise and hear what you have learned in class. It is just what I needed after having spent a year doing classes. I could read and write Italian but was still struggling to speak or hear it fluently. I wouldn't recommend this though is you are new to Italian. You won't have a clue what is going on
