Publisher's summary

In today’s online culture, it’s easy to confuse influencers with leaders and chase the followers, the likes, and the superficial success. But, while influencers paint a pretty picture, real leaders pave a path. Leadership isn’t about what you do, nor is it about what you’ve accomplished. It’s about who you be. What people really yearn for is someone who cuts through the bullshit and lives and operates authentically. They’re looking for you, stripped of the façades. The real "you", undiluted, leading with your true self - your potency.

Ruby Fremon has helped hundreds of leaders quit the performance, reclaim their power, and build brands without sacrificing their integrity. In this audiobook, she helps you uncover your deepest fears so you can:

  • Stop seeking validation and recognize your gift
  • Do the inner work to be a leader and not just look like one
  • Rise up, speak up, and dare to be seen
  • The greatest movements in history were started by people who refused to follow the crowd

Now it’s time for you to build your own movement - your own way - and never look back.

Worth EVERY Listening Minute.

I love listening to audio books yet constantly find myself thinking “get to the good stuff.” Not with this book. Ruby perfectly weaves through personal stories, examples, and actionable takeaways from start to finish.

Yes… I am her husband and have bias built in, naturally. Yet, I am so incredibly impressed with what she’s created.

Whether you’re a well established leader or aspiring leader, you will end each listen with MASSIVE takeaways.

Change the way to show up on Social Media

This book came to me at the perfect timing. I was lost and confused about the way I was showing up online. I knew there was something in me that wanted to be unveiled but it felt to edgy.

In this book the author Ruby helped me see that I had been living behind a mask, someone else identity. The way she was able to articulate the mask people wear when showing up online had encourage me to start showing up differently.

When I was in the middle of this book I had to taken a break from posting on IG to really hear my own voice and how I wanted to show up as a Potent Leader.

If you had a small voice inside you taking you speak up and show up differently as a leader and not an influencer, you need to read this book. It will transform the way show up online and in person.

There are many books on leader ship out here, this one it’s changing my life. This book is a code to live by, a new standard for authenticity, and created with a simplicity that we can all digest and embody. Wow… the bar has raised.

A welcomed surprise after pushing through triggers

I found this because Hal Elrod had Ruby as a guest on his podcast. When I saw the email for that episode, I knew I wanted to check it out immediately because I was not blind to the fact that males somewhat dominate my self-help library and mentor list. Any good self-help author will keep the message gender-neutral, but I think it is essential to explore outside of your comfort zone and what is familiar.

It didn't take long into this audiobook before I recognized myself feeling triggered. The reason for that is I had just finished another audiobook on leadership that I thoroughly enjoyed. Coincidentally, Ruby calls out that model and takes a stance that this is not that and that she has something unique and more to offer. If this were many years ago and early on in my path of self-development, I may have allowed those triggers to affect me enough to stop listening and put the book down.

However, I remember that another leadership model suggests that you "explore the opposite to be as true or truer than my original story." One other thing I took from those other leadership lessons was that all self-help models have flaws in them. They admitted that their model was not without flaws. So should I just quit listening because Ruby is pointing out some of those flaws?

I'm so happy I didn't give up on this and continued with an open mind. I feel that Ruby is just baring her soul and saying, "F**k it. This is me, and this is what I know to be true." She is not worried about offending as long as she is authentic and a potent leader. If you listen to this with a similar open mind from start to finish, I do not doubt you can be a more potent version of yourself than what you were before you began this journey.

It might sound cliche to say she was so brave in sharing her journey and her rock bottoms. But I felt a deeper connection, and this felt more personal than any of the other self-help books I've consumed.

Everybody can get something from this, but this will likely be my first recommendation for anyone who naturally rejects self-help material. I am overly optimistic, so I am an easy audience for most self-help models and speakers. Ruby finds a way to go beyond that and tap into a different part of us that can help an optimistic person recognize their flaws and not be so condescending. Even self-help leaders can benefit from a little humble pie.

This review would not be complete if I didn't mention how interesting it was when she touched on issues with drugs and alcohol, family judgments, divorce, and plant medicine rituals. So many eye-openers throughout her journey. I love the way she brought it full circle in the end and offered the explanation I needed for why she chose to call out another leadership model I felt connected to. I highly recommend this book to anyone, regardless of your journey in life or your confidence level as a leader.
