This Story Is Flirty

Publisher's Summary

When the ghost of a notorious killer possesses the body of an upper-class youth, London's preeminent medium, Emily Chambers, must exorcise it before the spirit goes on a rampage. As if this isn't distraction enough, she must fight her feelings for brooding ghost Jacob Beaufort, who doesn't like the new man in her life - the handsome and very much alive Theodore Hyde.

With reputations and lives at stake, Emily discovers that navigating the poorest suburbs of London in search of the evil spirit is almost as dangerous as finding her way in a society that thinks freaks like her belong in the circus.

A bit woozy at times

If you could sum up Possession in three words, what would they be?

The story line is great but both of the main characters seem very whiny at times and bit weak. The story would go better if the characters exhibit a bit more bravado.

a little humour and this would have been a success

Maybe it's the narrator's tone of voice, an ominous tone as if she was referring to the end of the world, that makes the whole thing sound ridiculous. It would have been perfect is it had been contrasted by lots of humor, like The Parasol series. The heroin is weak and the hero is weaker an dumb and every word they utter is as if they were referring to a great terrible drama. They are just dumb and obstinate, which would be ok, again, if it was part of the joke. Only would humor and sarcasm would make such a extremely dramatic and simple story understandable.

Possessions, Romance with a Ghost, & new Family

Possession
Emily Chambers Spirit Medium, Book 2
By: C. J. Archer
Narrated by: Gemma Dawson
This book takes off where book one ended. There are new characters arriving and new relatives to Emily. There is a ghost that is made to possess someone close to Emily and Jacob. The ghost doesn't want to comply and causes lots of chaos before Emily can get rid of it. She has to hurry before anymore people get hurt or killed, including herself! Emily and Jacob's relationship has a new issue...oh, I wish it was simple for a girl and a ghost!
The narrator is perfect for this book! She is excellent is the voices and the emotions, and there are a lot of those!

Engrossing book !

I loved this book as well the first. This book is not about ghosts and the supernatural alone. This book is about family, sisters who share a unique gift. They are helping people from the poor to the richest societies. A forbidden love as emerged between the medium and a ghost. A must read that will change how we view the supernatural; moreover love.

Every ending leaves you wanting more!

These 3 books were my first experience in to the paranormal. I tend to love historical Mystery Romantic books and my goodness this series was jam packed with the lot! Superbly written and narrated beautifully. You kind of guess where it will finish, but I had it the wrong way round, so still a big surprise at the end! Every book was worth every credit and I’m now about to read more from C.J.Archer
