Help your children and yourself
- By Steven E. Adamson on 10-30-20
By: Susan Garcia
Publisher's Summary
If you’ve ever allowed a three-year-old’s temper tantrum to ruin you, then keep reading...and learn the no-nonsense approach to positive parenting and raising emotionally intelligent kids.
You’re in the middle of the supermarket and your three-year-old is in full meltdown mode over an icicle. There’s yelling, and there are tears and snot flying everywhere. Do you:
- Give in and buy the icicle because you’re way too embarrassed
- Engage in a yelling match with your kid, i.e., lose your marbles completely
- Drag your kid yelling and screaming out of the supermarket
- Calmly but firmly stand your ground, and tell your little one there are snacks waiting for them at home
Now that you look at it, the correct answer is probably obvious. In the heat of the moment, however, most parents will react instinctively and they’ll do irrational things due to stress and exhaustion.
Let’s face it - even the best and kindest of kids throw temper tantrums. In fact, statistics show that 87 percent of 18 to 24-month-olds will have a total meltdown every once in a while.
No parent wants to lose control and shout at their child, but it happens. Maybe you think that at least you are disciplining your child...but studies show that long term, it leads to a poorer parent-child relationship and is consistently ranked the worst disciplining method by child behavior psychologists.
Aileen Jarvis and Rowan Roffe are child developmental specialists and have seen this happen over and over again.
One of the most common issues they faced when working with children has always been the way in which the parents are just so radically underprepared to cope with the stress of raising a child.
While working together they realized that if they wanted to make a real and lasting impact on a child’s life, they had to start at the core; they had to start with the parents.
Ever since then they have worked tirelessly to bridge the divide between parent and child and teach parents the secrets of mindful parenting.
In this Positive Parenting 2-in-1 Value Bundle, you will discover:
- What exactly is parenting with purpose - actionable tips and no mumbo jumbo
- How your child’s mind functions - little ones don’t process information as adults!
- How to handle the mighty temper tantrum like a boss (the one thing all parents are probably dying to find out)
- The secret of setting boundaries and outlining clear consequences, whether positive or negative
- How to incorporate mindfulness into positive discipline
- Five little things that you probably aren’t getting right
- Three simple tricks that will stop you from losing your cool
And much more.
Ultimately, your goal will always be to raise your child as best as possible. To love them and care for them. No more will you have to worry about the stress of a tantrum in public or your teen not obeying curfew.

It is not always good to know what to with kids
An older mentor used to tell me, Everybody knows what to do with them, except those who have them. It is much easier once you have been through it and can look back at it with a clearer mind. The only other helpful thing is someone else who has been through it and will tell you straight what is needed. This book does that, whether you like it or not.

Great Bundle!
Everyone always says they'll raise their kids right... but when you have them, you discover it's hard to figure out exactly what raising them right is. This book is a great, in depth look at that very topic. It takes you in and shows you that YOU are the parent and, while some kids are troublemakers, most of their behavior is because of you and how you treat them.
This book is for those parents who want to give their child the best possible upbringing. It will teach you all kinds of useful techniques that work (for both you AND your kid ;) ). I hadn't realized just how much of this I understood, but didn't internalize until I read this book. I highly recommend it for any parent, not just new but experienced as well.

Perfect for All Parents
I enjoyed listening to these audiobooks. My children are now in their twenties, but at times, I could see myself with them in several scenarios described. I wish I could have had access to just a fraction of the information set out here; it would have made life far easier! The different parenting styles are described with the pros and cons of each. Tips on handling situations, such as temper tantrums, are a great source of help. Mindfulness is described in detail; I found this particularly interesting. Well written and narrated, these two books should sit on every parents' bookshelf. Great work.

Some great ideas for positive reinforcement
A perfect combo and great value in both of these two books. A very non judgemental series. I really liked the part about understanding your child's personality type, because I hadn't considered that issue before.
The best part though is that the books are filled with real life scenarios instead of just theory. It's important to reiterate that kids often learn by observation and how vital it is that the overall home environment be as positive and nurturing as possible.

I really like the easy way the narrator spoke and the way in which the book is written. It was non judgemental. I have 3 boys, so understanding a little more about their personality types was really helpful.
I also enjoy the way the first book addressed the parental and child relationship.
