Publisher's Summary

If you struggle when things don't go your way, then keep reading.

The path to developing leadership skills is not that easy. It's all about building our leadership muscle through a different way of seeing, thinking, and doing.

We, as leaders, must see how things are for ourselves, change the way we think, and do something differently.

What's difficult about leadership is that there's no class in early education that defines leadership, nobody will teach you what to do.

Leadership is all about having a vision of one’s own and charging it with enough belief to empower the team or the followers to achieve their own goals as well. The zillions of benefits guaranteed by leadership is one of the most attractive reasons to be a leader.

Moreover, when you get a faint taste of the harvest of leadership, you realize that all the virtues and fruits have the ability to stay forever, as your own conviction gets strengthened forever due to the joy of achieving all that you want. As to why leadership should be opted for anyone, it relies on having a vision (which everyone has) and helping/influencing others realize the same, to work towards achieving your vision is the primary advantage of being a leader.

This book is a simple and practical guide that is suited for anyone who is ready to take the role of being a leader, even if you failed before.

great for newly aspiring leaders

I was given this free review copy audio book at my request and have voluntarily left this review.

I wouldn't call this anything earth shattering or new, but they are solid concepts. If you have never been in a leadership position before and are looking to expand your horizons that way, I would recommend this book. If you've had experience as a leader or have taken any leadership classes before, this will be a boring listen for you. The narration is done well. All in all, it's worth a listen if you want to start your leadership journey.

Tough to listen to. Wouldn’t recommend

The pace in which the book is red, is really hard to listen to. I tried listening at one time and at one and ahalf time and I couldn’t get through the first few chapters. Whoever is reading the book changes their pace back-and-forth and it’s either too slow or too fast and wasn’t for me. I can’t speak to the content of the book as I couldn’t listen to it.

Leadership Skills from History

How to Be an Effective Leader lists virtues, and skills of historical and religious leaders.

There are many styles of leadership and attributes that leaders should seek to cultivate. this book details many of these and shows how they were implemented.

There are also negative examples given of terrible leaders and some of the atrocities that they committed. It wasn't graphic but I still hope the average leader knows not to cause genocide. I also could have done without Che Guevaralisted among the positive examples but it's a small point.

There was a lot of information to unpack and re-reads would be rewarded.

The narrator was very professional and delivered the material in an energetic, dynamic manner. I would be happy to listen to more titles narrated by him.

This book was given to me for free at my request and I provided this voluntary review.
