Wonderful

Very straight forward on what to do for most of the common issues with a toddler. Lots of examples, for me sometimes seemed like my own and that helped me understand my son is normal and does t have a "misbehavior" problem

This is very beneficial for us busy parents.

This is very beneficial for us busy parents. It also gives short explanations of why children behave the way they do, making us adults understand them more, and thus be able to come from a positive point whenever they do things they do. I love how everything is very practical and easy to apply. I can't wait to try other things mentioned in the book.

Not without issues, but still great.

The book has some issues (poor choice of narrator, lack of focus) but it's still a great summary of tips on how to discipline your toddler. There are also many examples, practical exercises. Buy this book!

Less stressful now.

It's a great book that explains how you need to raise your child. But it didn't cover sleep time and the potty training part I wasn't sure of. Overall, this book is quite simple but it's also helpful. It definitely made me less stressed about dealing with my 2 years old.

THANK YOU!

It's a great addition to my collection. I'd say it's a must read/listen for all parents. Thanks to such books we get reminded to recognize the uniqueness of our children. If we as parents are all unique, why do we forget this simple truth about our kids?? Thank you, Emily, for this reminder and this book!

Don't waste your time

I completely agree with everything that is said in this book, however anyone with a minimum of common sense can figure this out by themselves, without having to waste their time reading it. Also, the narrator's voice and tone made me feel like she was actually talking to a child, and not to a parent.

A perfect book for me!

I'm able to relax and enjoy my son instead of feeling constantly on edge thinking I have to scold him for every little thing he does. The biggest part of positive discipline is understanding where your little one is coming from developmentally. This book is great! A must-read!

Every parent should read this book!

They help parents understand child development so they can avoid putting their children in situations they are not ready for which leads to meltdowns. They promote consistency which is so important with children. I will be recommending this book to all the parents I see in my psychotherapy practice.

This book as been wonderful for my son and me.

Yes, the book promotes distraction and redirection, but that's what children this young seem to understand. They need to know what they can do and not just what they can't. The other principles of the book work to build self-confidence and good self-esteem in your child. What couldn't be good about that? I've recommended this book to all my new mom friends and I'm getting my husband to read it next.

Insightful

A must-read when you have a little child or take care of one or just want to know more about how to raise emotionally healthy and well-balanced children. Natasha Becker is a phenomenal insightful expert when it comes to parenting. I started giving this book to new parents as a gift as I have raised my own children by this method and the parenting job has been enjoyable throughout all years due to the positive discipline method. The book is an easy listen and simple to follow. Although, the greatest benefit arises by actually applying these brilliant principles.

Excellent. Highly recommend!

Focuses on raising children kindly and firmly to teach curiosity, respect, and self-confidence. Spoiler alert: spanking and berating aren't the answer. It also explains age-appropriate behavior so you can understand what's going on inside your child's head.

Brilliant, informative, and effective.

I will say that this book changed my life. Everything about it, start to finish. Her techniques make sense, and they make both the child and the parent feel good while cooperating. If you are on the fence, buy it and see for yourself how beautifully simple positive discipline is.

A wonderful resource

Best book for learning how to deal with your toddler. I have recommended this to so many people. It definitely takes retraining on the adults part but the strategies are very effective on my 20-month-old.

Great book !!

Great book !! It's definitely helped my husband and I re-evaluate our parenting skills and find what does work for our toddlers. I wish this was included in all new parent baskets because one day you wake up and that pretty little baby is suddenly a toddler... where did the time go.
