Publisher's summary
For all parents, caretakers, teachers and mentors of young black girls, Positive Affirmations for Young Melanated Queens, Volume 1 is a collection of 50 empowering and confidence-boosting statements for them to listen to and repeat out loud or by writing them down.
These emboldening statements give young black girls tools to take charge of their mindset and, through repetition, feel the truth in these words. Words that celebrate their skin, hair, potential, brilliance, compassion, and leadership.
These affirmations are the perfect addition for your young queen's daily routine — something to sit with and write or repeat when they wake up, before they do homework, or at night before bed.
This book pairs beautifully with an Affirmations Journal and is a great gift that can be life changing to the pliable mind of the young melanated queen in your life.

Story
The kingdom of Cornucopia was once the happiest in the world. It had plenty of gold, a king with the finest moustache you could possibly imagine, and butchers, bakers, and cheesemongers whose exquisite foods made a person dance with delight when they ate them. Everything was perfect - except for the misty Marshlands to the north, which, according to legend, were home to the monstrous Ickabog. Anyone sensible knew that the Ickabog was just a myth to scare children into behaving. But the funny thing about myths is that sometimes they take on a life of their own.

Really enjoyed these Affirmations
I'm a huge fan of positive affirmations and I really enjoyed these. The tone and voice were soothing and the words and postive affirmations create a positive mind space for growth and self discovery. I liked that they audio book had three different variations. I do wish it was a bit longer but I did enjoy it for what it provided.

Unique angle
This book provides a unique angle into the challenges that young black girls have to face in our era (and black kids in general).
We all know how rude can be childhood and how many psychological issues our kids are facing, these tips and speeches are not gonna change their life but certainly provides them with some valuable tools!

More than just affirmations
Now it's more important than ever to make sure we're feeding our kids the right kind of information and mindsets. Social media and the online world can be a very scary place where our kids are exposed to all kinds of toxicity. It's better to prepare them mentally through affirmations like these.
