I just love this book! Great story, good narration, and I love the animals’ personalities!

I want to be more like a pony now

This book is good at making you want to know what happens next. I really enjoyed listening to the different perspectives between Penny and her pony. I recommend listening to the characters and going on this journey with them

Absolutely loved this book!

I’ve never read anything quite like this. The author is clearly a horse person, and speaks to the experience of both equines and humans beautifully. It’s a fun, page-turning, delicious read that is delightful and also emotional at times. And although a pony is a main character, it is not juvenile or saccharine. Can’t recommend it enough!

Creative story, excellent narration

Very fun and creative story with excellent narration! I enjoyed all the different animal voices and perspectives, and the Odyssey-like journey of the pony trying to get home to Ithaca. I squirmed in following Penny’s story through the justice system. Highly recommended!

Best story ever

Loved it . My daughter who is 10 and I had the best time together, listening to the story back-and-forth on our way to her school for a week or two.

Very engaging listen

The premise is preposterous - aging pony saves the child owner of his past from being convicted of murder. Two performers read alternating chapters as the now grown child and the pony - both readers are terrific. This novel really sucks you in as the pony travels around the country from one adventure to the next. The pony especially shares many fun observations and lines. But underneath it all there are some serious questions raised on a number of issues. Well-paced and not too long, a totally satisfactory, enjoyable experience.

Delightful Story of a Pony on a Mission

very entertaining, performed well, and many images of redemption and love. I recommend particularly to those who love animals.

An excellent horse odyssey

This book made me feel like I did as a kid reading Black Beauty. It is thought provoking and beautiful and clearly written by a horse person.

Annoying inserts

The story overall is great, but the author used some pretty blatant misandry and pandering to check boxes that were better left out.
