Publisher's Summary

Are you ready to get into the adventure of Pokemon Go?

Here is the prologue.

Day 1:

The wind rushed through my feathers as I leapt from the nest for the first time. Beneath me was the target: the Weedle. I extended my wings to slow my fall, trapping the Weedle beneath my talons as I landed, leaves scattering in all directions.

The Weedle twisted to face me and aimed a poison sting at my right shoulder. I felt the shot narrowly miss the top of my wing; the shock made me jump backwards and the Weedle took his opportunity to flee, leaving a 2D grey cloud in its wake.

I could feel the blood rushing to my beak; I had let my prey get away. I turned to face my mother, Pidgeotto, who was hovering midway across the road.

Even further back was a Zubat: too far away to bother with really.

Pidgeotto gently descended down to the grass to join me, putting her wing around my shoulders. "Relax hun, we can't all win our first battles," she said. "Besides, you have great IVs and your skill in battle is determined randomly rather than from actual battle experience, so there isn't really any need to worry about failure."

I smiled. While eight of my brothers and I were all the tiniest team mythic leader Blanche had ever seen, I knew I was destined to be strong...for a Pidgey, anyway.

Pokemon a go go

My wee nephews love pokemon. My daughter was a fan when it first hi the US and now I have new youngsters who are following the pokemon craze today. I played this for them and they loved it. Great story as far as they were concerned. The nice thing is that the book is over a half hour long, and it plays long enough for the kiddies to drift off, and if they wake up they just replay the ipod. Works great. Clinger does a nice job narrating the story, and the kids easily follow along with him. No reading outloud for me! Even though I did receive a promo code for this review it in no way influenced my considerations of the material, and in fact, inspired me to be more honest. In fact, getting a code generally makes me harsher as a reviewer as I am more often concerned what someone like Me will decide based on my review.

Fun story, not so great narration

This is a fun, family friendly story about one Pidgey and it’s adventures. The tale starts off simply and the rules of the game, Pokemon Go, are woven into the tale. Pidgey meets several other pokemon and makes a few friends. There’s some mild bullies and some know-it-alls in the mix. I like how Pidgey deals with each character it runs into.

I was surprised that there was a touch of first love romance in the story but I liked it. I also appreciated that the pidgeys in general didn’t have a gender, making romantic relationships a little complicated.

The stinky pokemon was also a nice addition as it showed that not all pokemon play well with each other. The ball dodging scene was also fun! Over all, this is a great little tale for fans of the game. 4/5 stars.

I received a free copy of this book.

The Narration: Trevor Clinger has an odd cadence to his speech. He has plenty of odd pauses in each sentence. Also, he doesn’t do character voices well at all and that made it a little hard to keep all the pidgeys separate. However, his recording quality is good. It’s a steady volume the entire story and there’s no repeated sentences or such. 2.5/5 stars.

An enjoyable kids audiobook

My children love listening to books by Isabel Jones! This audiobook was enjoyable to listen to. My daughter's favorite Pokemon is Pidgey, so she really enjoyed listening to this audiobook. I thought it was cute how this audiobook incorporated the Pokemon Go game into it.

Could the narrator be worse?

I don't expected greatness from anything with pokemon in the title. However, ... he... reads... like ... a ... monotone... operator... recording.

Horrible Narration

Any additional comments?

The is the worst narration of any book that I've heard on Audio book. My son instantly did not like this book because of the narration and lack of storytelling ability.

Narration is not very good

The narration doesn't flow naturally. It sounds like computer text to voice computerised speaking. Get a sample before buying.
