Catfishing

I liked the story and felt so sorry for her and to be a friend and family is just awful. She really feels she did no wrong or hurt anyone. She took 10 years away from her and I'm glad the police governing board is gonna reopen her case and she may get justice in the end.

Excellent podcast

The quality of the production is exceptional. Fans of the film and TV show Catfish will find it a familiar, and often maddening, story.

A Crime of the Times- Catfish 101

Well done and tastefully insightful! While the ability of someone to pull this off in modern times baffles me there are too many cases on record to dispute that it does, everyday. With podcasts like this, Catfish the Movie and the wildly popular MTV Show Catfish hopefully more and more people are becoming educated on this subject. Often on the TV Show the Catfish perpetrator is either unwilling to state motivation or seemingly unable for whatever reason. That just shows how truly sick and deplorable they really are.

I sincerely hope the UK Police Authorities take some legal action to hopefully give Kirat a senae of justice but I fear the Authorities will once again be a let down. The laws that Govern our socities are behind the times of these sorts of crimes and unfortunately often take way to long to catch up. Same as when computer or internet based offenses started trending but little could be done in terms of criminal charges. Today there are a plethora of laws covering computer crimes but it took precious time to make headway in the beginning. Hopefully Catfish types of Laws won't take so long but I'm not holding my breath.

My heart goes out to Kirat and I hope she once again finds in life the very happiness and peace her voice depicts and radiates on her radio show. As for the "Fake Bobby" my only desire for her and others like her in the world is to rot. Whether they rot one day in jail, in hell or in their personal lives, either or all is justified.Catfishing is a heinous crime that robs a victim of their emotional security and takes away pieces of themselves day by day. The journalist who worked on this podcast, Alexi Mostrous, and others have done amazing work here and I wish them all success in future endeavors.

Again, well done!

Could be shorter

the first two-three episodes are good. Then, it lacks substance. The journalist says he do not want to be emotionally explorative, but ends up being one.

Ep2 plays ep3!

When you click on ep2 it actually plays ep3. I was about a minute in before I realised I’ve just heard some spoilers and now can’t find where to listen to the actual ep2 because ep3 is ep3 but ep2 is ep3! Confused.

eye-opening and shocking

A brilliantly compelling account of catfishing, the impact of coercive control on the victim and the extraordinary lack of recognition of wrongdoing from the British police and justice system.

Scary !!

I think this could and can happen to anyone.
I should NOT be so gobsmacked as I feel.
How psychopaths utilise everything and everyone to their own advantage is well documented.
I feel there will always be victims of such behaviour and catfishing should be recognised by the laws and justice system as the crime it is.
No amount of money will cover what the victims have lost
