Everything You Need to Get Started & Maintain a Podcast

Storytelling has been around for centuries and has evolved its medium through many years. From singing songs and poems in the olden days to television, films, Over-the-Top media (OTT), and now podcasts. A podcast is “a program (as of music or talk) made available in digital format for automatic download over the Internet” (Merriam-Webster). Podcasts have gone through a significant boom in the past few years, especially since the pandemic. They have gone beyond just storytelling and have become mediums for people to express their opinions on various topics. Any topic you can think of is covered through podcasts, ranging from self-help, geopolitics, spirituality, relationships, career advice, motivational, and so many more.

Through this book, I want to introduce you to the world of podcasting and how you, too, can start your own and make it a source of income for yourself. Some of my personal favorites are the Knock ‘Em Out podcast by Vinnie Paz, Beyond the Pen with Maccabee and Marchella, 9 to 5ish with the Skimm, Small Biz Highlight with Tiffany Roman, Sports Law Podcast with Jeremy Evans, Chasing the Insights with Vince Warnock, That’s a Job? with Nate Clayberg, and The Fantasy Footballers podcast.

Good overview on podcasting

This is a short but succinct overview of podcasting which can help you make up your mind if you want to get started in podcasting or not. It explains why and how to do your podcast and dispels the idea of making money fast, it is more of a slow journey to building your brand and expressing yourself which builds up over time. I found this a very useful guide from someone who knows what they are talking about.

A Must For Any Podcasters Or Aspiring Podcasters

There couldn't have been a better time to have listened to this book. I plan to do a podcast later this year since I got a new mic earlier this year. That and due to a long absence from social media because of the many things that have happened within said year, it goes without saying that there is a lot to discuss. I learned a lot from this book and I plan to make use out of what I now know. A must for any podcasters or aspiring podcasters.
