Excellent as always, audio production fits the story well. Liked music between chapters, so Marlowe.

I love Marlowe

I’ve lost track of how many Chandler books I’ve been through. And Brick is the perfect narrator.

Dramatic and very good

I agree the music trumpets the drama, but who deserves extras more than Marlow. Chandler's literary flourish may not be as top notch in this episode as in others, yet the depth of all characters here is striking~ Marlow accepts his dangerous psyche more than ever.

Less Complicated Chandler

I have read/listened to most of Chandler’s books and have liked them all.
My two favorites are “The Long Goodbye” (his last) and “The Big Sleep” (his first).
I am not a big fan of the hardnosed noir detective genre but find Chandler’s prose and vivid descriptions elevates his novels out of the pulp. I find the Marlowe character more nuanced than other noir detectives and the other characters in his novels more realistic than other pulp noir.

Playback is less complicated than most Chandler novels but I really enjoyed the characters and pacing.

I found the narration excellent. Some listeners seem to think the emotionality was too much for the character, but I found it enjoyable.
