Publisher's Summary

In the latest thrilling collaboration from number one New York Times best-selling author and “Queen of Suspense” Mary Higgins Clark and Alafair Burke, television producer Laurie Moran must solve the kidnapping of her fiancée’s nephew - just days before her wedding.

Television producer Laurie Moran and her fiancée, Alex Buckley, the former host of her investigative television show, are just days away from their mid-summer wedding, when things take a dark turn. Alex’s seven-year-old nephew, Johnny, vanishes from the beach. A search party begins, and witnesses recall Johnny playing in the water and collecting shells behind the beach shack, but no one remembers seeing him after the morning. As the sun sets, Johnny’s skim board washes up to shore, and everyone realizes that he could be anywhere, even under water.

A ticking clock, a sinister stalker, and fresh romance combine in this exhilarating follow up to the best-selling You Don’t Own Me - another riveting pause-resister from the “Queen of Suspense” Mary Higgins Clark and her dazzling partner-in-crime, Alafair Burke.

Piece of My Heart

This was a very nice book, with not horrible violence, but some frightening moments!! I enjoyed the role of the FBI agents who ended up Marrying just as they planned. It was suspenseful and added another case which had me confused at first. I heard in the acknowledgement that it’s part of a series of other books. I’ll have to find them

Great

I loved this book. Sad to think it’s the last book from Mary Higgins Clark. Best of the under suspicion series in my view.

Good book, awful narration!

I always enjoy the Under Suspicion novels but felt like the narrator was reading from “Better Homes and Gardens”. Yuck. What a mismatch! Still another enjoyable novel!!!

Always

An excellent story as always. Mary never disappoints. I have read all her books and passed them onto family and friends. Clean mystery is possible! And January ...you always do a wonderful voice of characters. Thank you all

Enjoyed this book

I enjoyed the story and I’m so happy to see that Laurie finally got married it could’ve gone on forever thankfully it did not the only unenjoyable part of this book was the narrator some of the lines are very good but it’s so much better to have two people narrate these books you don’t need to have a man try to pretend to be a woman or a woman try to pretend to be a man just get two people to play the part they are the ones that make the story the overall performance by the narrator was definitely not good but the story itself was

Fantastic

Great story and entertaining characters. January LaVoy is also the best narrator she makes the characters real.
