Publisher's Summary

“The scrumptious recipes and exquisite settings round out this beautiful novel...both touching and delicious.” (Romantic Times)

Having earned her chef’s hat, Lexi Stuart bids au revoir to her glamorous and deliciously satisfying pastry mentorship to find life unexpectedly complicated.

She’s put in charge of a high-end catering bakery, but there’s a catch: she has to make this lavish bakery into a successful business in just a few, short months. In over her head and at a loss for creative marketing ideas, Lexi can’t compose the perfect recipe for success.

Stir in a complicated relationship with her French beau, then add a dash of romance with her down-to-earth lawyer, and life suddenly contains more ooh la la than Lexi can handle.

With the fate of her career and her love life hanging by a thread, the phrase “piece of cake” has never been more daunting. Lexi finally trusts the dreams in her heart to the God who put them there.

Devour this delicious audiobook, lashed with romance, fun, and spiced with a lightly Christian world view. Bon Appétit!

OK story, poor performance

The story is lite, cute and enjoyable. The performance is not good. The faux French accent of the narrator is awful. She also mispronounces English words as well as French words.

Narrator needs a French language coach

Great clean series. No foul language. You never know who the lead character will end up with. Some of the author's French phrases are a little off in translation (I use Google Translate for comparison), but it's nowhere near as bad as the way the narrator pronounced things. She says "C'est une surprise" (set oon surpreez) as "sess oon surprise" with a long I sound. She still says Guillaume (Ghee-YOHM; think "Benson" star Robert Guillaume) as "GHEE-may" as in a previous book in the series. Maybe it needed a narrator with formal training in French, or dual narration, adding a native French narrator for the French characters.

A Great Read (All 3 Books)

I loved the way this book made you think. God's words are meant to be applied to our lives when we ask him. I loved the way you showed us that life involves choices. We have a free will but when we belong to God, he directs us to do what his perfect will is. His Spirit joins with our spirit. Also it takes time and we mess up sometimes. However, he never leaves us or forsake.us .

A mediocre ending to a good series

This is the third book in the French Twist series- and unfortunately it was my least favorite. The book centers on Lexi who has become a French trained pastry chef who is figuring out her career and love life. Lexi's character is still very sweet- but I didn't love the way some of her relationships developed or just fizzled. I was also disappointed because the first two books in the series focus a great deal on baking and recipes and while this book still took place in a commercial bakery there were fewer recipes and much less baking or cooking techniques in this one. I'm glad I listened to it to cap off the series and find out what happened to Lexi, but I don't think I would have read it as a standalone.
