An awesome book

I really enjoyed listening to Picking Daisy. It is a wonderful story that is full of the right amount of drama. The characters were believable and you could understand where they were coming from. I could understand some why Daisy felt the way she did and why she made the decisions she did even when they didn't make sense. I was able to identify with her. I really liked the story and how it all came together. I really enjoyed the narrator too. She did a good job at bringing each of the characters to life. She has a pleasant and easy voice to listen to. I would definitely purchase another book read by her. I would recommend both the author and narrator to others.

Wonderful story!

Wow what an awesome story!! I alos enjoyed that the chapters were short. So if you had just a little down time you could listen for short intervales, but warning the book will draw you in quickly and you won't want to put it down. The narrator had a good reading voice, not boring. She read at a good speed, I thought. I can't wait to hear another story by this author!!!

Amazing unputdownable story!

This story was absolutely unputdownable.

I was totally captivated by Daisy’s and Elise’s story.

The story was totally believable. and realistic. Daisy and Elise didn’t just get along right away. It took time. Even when i thought things were finally working out, something would happen to put me back on the edge of my seat.
The story had lots of good lessons, and encouragement, without being preachy.
Parts of the story made me cry. I won’t mention which parts, as i don’t want to create any spoilers.
I would love to see these characters again in the future.
The Narration was very good. Her voice was pleasant to listen to, and the book was read very well.

I understand this book is part of a series. I really hope the rest of the series will be recorded in audio, or even other books. I would love to read more from this author.
I would highly recommend this book.

Thought Provoking

This book was different from what I usually read but I listened to a sample and I wanted to hear the rest of the story. It is an audiobook and the narrator was pleasant to hear. The story was interesting and thought provoking. Picking Daisy really touched me because I have a heart for children that doesn’t have parents or have bad parents. I also have friends that have been foster parents. This story gives us both sides, of a foster parent and the child. I had compassion for both with the struggles they had. DJ was so scared of rejection from yet another person that she couldn’t even begin to think why Elise was being so nice. Elise trying to be so pleasant but going about it the wrong way.
If you want to read an unforgettable story that shows brokenness, rejection faith, redemption and unconditional love you have to read this one. I will remember this book for a long time and I will probably listen to it again.

Loved this story

I got this story via audiobook boom and this is my voluntary review. I thoroughly enjoyed this story. I have 2 sisters and 2 brothers who have been foster then adoptive parents and the only way I knew the system was through them. They are great parents. I heard about some of the ways foster kids are treated but never encountered the negative. This story opened my eyes to why some kids come out of the foster care system scarred. I wish there was a better way to monitor the foster parents so that kids don't get hurt. We, as Americans should love our kids better. Also if you are a foster parent you should know that the kids you get are already traumatized and for you to treat them in a negative manner only adds to the trauma. Well, I will get off of my bandwagon for now. But my prayers go out to the foster kids and the foster parents. God tells us to treat the kids and elderly right if no one else. My continued prayers are with all of us as a nation for we seem to be losing our way. The narrator was very good and moved the story along.
