Publisher's summary

There are few characters in literature more iconic than J. M. Barrie's Peter Pan, the Boy Who Wouldn't Grow Up. Originally introduced in 1902 in another Barrie novel (The Little White Bird), Peter's story was expanded as a standalone novel in 1911 and since then has been memorably adapted for the movies, for television, and for stage.

Now, actress Lily Collins (The Blind Side, The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones) brings new, youthful energy to Peter's magical adventures - her performance capturing the innocence and wonder of Barrie's original tale. Through Collins' voice you'll rediscover your favorite characters: Captain Hook, the Darlings, Tinker Bell, The Lost Boys, and a tick-tocking crocodile. And you'll fly along with Peter through Neverland - a place full of magic and adventure; a place where no one gets old.

Lilly Collins' masterful performance!

Lilly Collins' performance was marvelous. Her joyous, happy voice made this audio version of Peter Pan so fun to listen to. I would definitely listen to any other audiobook by Collins. Fantastic job!

Overlook the flaws

It's so charmingly written, try to overlook the occasional mispronounced words. And blame the production people, not the actress.

Charming old tale

I enjoyed this little book. I find it interesting on what the cartoons choose to leave out. The creativity within this book was wonderful. How farias are born, how the dreams intertwine, etc. I enjoyed this one. If you’re looking for a classic, this one is short and sweet.

wonderfully read and thoroughly enjoyed

I know I have heard the story before. Told many times in different abridgements. This is my favorite of them all. The Original. and Lily did a fabulous job.

classic, worth sharring/reading with the wee ones.

still a classic.

Audible puts a disclaimer at the end, however, for those who are soft in th head. Such that, it is an old story, and so the language is archaic (Oh my god, how droll). Also, lest you had lost sleep in worry--the views are not necessarily those of the narrator (you can now sleep well, knowing so). I mean really, how prosaic. That last insertions from the Audible studio almost ruin the whole thing--look now, it has made up the whole of my review.

If any Audible employees read this--remove that bit of tripe, at the end. It is rubberized protection nonsense & garbage.

Unexpected and unnecessary language

As much as I love this story and the reading of it was run, there was unnecessary language used. Seeing as though this is a children’s title advertised in the children’s section I was quite surprised by this language used. It was also completely unnecessary to the story for it to be included. As much as I love the free option for my daughter to listen to during bedtime, I was quite displeased with this lack of quality assurance in what audible included in the children’s section.
