Publisher's summary

Alex always knew romance would be complicated. When love came into his life with wings and horns, he knew those complications would be a little unusual. Four months after meeting Rachel and Lorelei, Alex finally has a handle on divine visitations, supernatural enemies, and the echoes of reincarnation. He might even survive bringing an angel and a demon home for Christmas with the family.

He might not survive what comes next. A favor for friends brings Alex into a heated feud among Seattle's sorcerers. The lords of Hell aren't pleased with the chaos wrought by Lorelei's escape, and they're looking for payback. Worst of all, her angry ex-boyfriend has blown into town...and he just happens to be the Angel of Death.

Excellent, but Has Issues

At the highest level, this is the weakest of the three Alex Carlisle stories; there is too much time spent on what is plainly foundation for future story material, especially given how little of such groundskeeping was done in the first two stories. Also, the politics of hell needed a bit more background or fleshing out, so to speak, than was provided. An example would be whether each duke or duchess of hell has any power advantage over any other, such as how Belial had an advantage over Baal, resulting in Lorelei being transferred to Belial. Furthermore, why is Lileth different? Also, those of us that read the initial versions of Good Intentions know that some of the shared sex play in this story contradicts what Lorelei identified as personally injurious to her in the early versions of Good Intentions.

Ms. Irondale seemed to struggle with the voices of Alex, Drew, and Wade this time - the three voices were less distinct in this release than in the previous two.

It is still a great story, and certainly Mr. Kay has a wide-open landscape in which to further the story arc. Hopefully we will see a new chapter in the story arc in 2019, worthy of the three published to date.

What do I read Until the next one comes out.

For a person who found this series and author by accident, I'm pretty well hooked on it. This series has it all so I won't bother listing every quality. The only thing THIS book doesn't have is a ready to read right now next book. What will I read in between this and the next one the series? Hopefully I won't get stuck with plot line that smell like a bag of rotting c_cks. Great book. 18 hours never went by so fast.

Another Fun Book By Elliott Kay

Where does Personal Demons rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

One of my favorite series of books

Who was your favorite character and why?

All of the main characters are fun to follow.

What does Tess Irondale bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

She is one of the best narrators that I have heard on audible. I am looking forward to listening to the other books she has done. Other authors should defiantly get her for their books.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

With out spoiling the book some of the choices one of the main characters has to make was very heartbreaking.

Any additional comments?

Mr. Kay, Please keep writing, Please keep this series and these characters alive.

If you look at the humor and the tone of the book and don't take it too seriously anyone would really enjoy this series.

I loved the story but I kept feeling detached due to select word choices here and there.

Way too tragic hero

Antagonists of book 2 becomes the protagonist of book 3 and as that struggle flares up throughout the book The tactics used to keep original protagonist silent becoming worse and worse to the point that it seems like people are ripping is soul apart life by life then adding that life time and the experiences of it to there own soul. Then torture him with it. Well at least the end of book 2 where Alex demon changes ownership without event letting him freely choose if it's ok because the guardian Angle Donald is some homo angle who wants Alex for himself so he mindfully destroys all his relationships with women and then there is Jason who wants to pretends to be Alex and use his name and cellphone to completely destroy his friend while saying he is doing this all for his friends.
