Publisher's summary

What if you were given only two choices in life: find some way to stand out or else fade away?

It began with a hallucination. A time loss. A mistake. A strange man reaching out to her. All part of a tourist trap, Maggie is sure, and she's lucky it wasn't worse. Yet something about her life changed that day, and she can't put her finger on what.

She forces herself to move on but can never shake the inexplicable emptiness she feels.

When the man from that hallucination appears months later, he turns Maggie's world on its head. A man she can't remember. A bleak future. An oppressive regime hell-bent on destroying individuality and enslaving the world.

Only Maggie can stop it, but the key to success lies in memories she no longer has....

Join the thousands who have already discovered this award-winning dystopian romance. Stand out or fade away...

Movie in my Mind / A fight for Mankind

Wow! The narration enhanced the visualization of the story so much that I found myself empathizing with many of the characters. The voices engendered compassion, humor, fear, & intensity through the words seamlessly. The story line evoked a desire to crawl further into this future and join the fight to preserve individuality. The way the author wove scientific fact into explanations made the story line warily-realistic, more probable, and even more intriguing. The narration with variation in voices created a Movie in my Mind and fueled a need to revisit this fight for Mankind. Anxious to hear the next book!

GIMME MORE!!!!!

I am insanely in love with this book. The characters were amazing. The story keeps you hanging on and begging for more. And that's not evening mentioning how completely captivating and gorgeous this cover is! I'm so in love with it and can't wait to read the rest of the series. One of the biggest thing I want to compliment is the fact that it didn't really over sexualize a certain relationship that was in this book. Do not get me wrong. Sex in books is fine. In some cases, it even enhances the story. But there are many books that make it so overbearing that it's hard to actually focus on the actual point of the story. This was not one of those cases. I enjoyed this story a lot. I could gush on and on about it all day, but I don't want to take too much of everybody's time. I fully encourage anybody who is into time travel and fantasy stories to give this book a try. I'm so glad I did. I can't wait to read the rest of this series!

I didn't see that coming!

I love it when a book surprises me once or twice. This book surprised me over and over!

The story is about a young girl who has disjointed memories of things that never happened, or did they? She is swept away by a group of people who say they know her and need her to save humanity. But she can't remember them, not all of them anyway.

She comes face to face with love, danger, and loss.
There is so much uncertainty, so many unanswered questions.

The ending is heart-wrenching. Just when we feel that we know Maggie, really know her, she is torn apart right before our very eyes.

The production is flawless. I loved the narration!

An absolutely amazing story but cliffhanger

This is an amazing story but please beware although this is a total story you will want to know what happens next. This is a look into a dangerous future where 2 main groups roam the earth. One group wants to have everyone think the same way, the other group believes people should control their own lives. Of course this is a futuristic book but it is very interesting and pulls you into it. I previously read the books in this series but I'm finding it fun to have it read to me and bring everything back to my memory. It is a great series and I'm hoping the last book in the series will be out shortly!
I received a free code from the publisher to listen to this book on Audible. This review is my own honest opinion.

An Extraordinary Tale

Liesel K Hill always puts a unique and creative spin on her works that I find very enjoyable. This story is about a girl named Maggie who thinks that she is suffering from a hallucination when an unknown individual appears and disappears in front of her. She wakes up in a strange hotel room and can't remember how she got there. Then she meets the man who was in her hallucination and he spins a very unbelievable story to her. Thus begins this imaginative tale that I recommend to others who like this genre. Robin Wasser's narration is fantastic as she provides different voices for each of the characters. I was given a free copy of the audiobook and I have voluntarily left this review.

Gripping story, great narrator

Found the book very gripping and finished it in 2 days. Already have started reading the next book in the series. I enjoyed the overall plot and got invested in the characters right away. One of the issues I have with such books is having too many characters to keep track of and that is not an issue in this book at all. Each character has a purpose, narrator has done a great job in distinguishing between them as well. The character development throughout the book is good and you start caring for the cause of the team right away.

David's character arc is really well handled and his recovery is handled well at first. I felt later in the book he just recovered a bit too quickly. It is hard to know throughout the book who can and cannot be trusted completely and what is everyone hiding and why, which keeps you invested.
