This can be done on a backyard, farm, or ranch scale and is needed right now - on a global scale. Restoration Agriculture explains how we can have all of the benefits of natural, perennial ecosystems and create agricultural systems that imitate nature in form and function while still providing for our food, building, fuel, and many other needs.

Story
Have you ever desired, deep within your soul, to make a comfortable full-time living from a farming enterprise? Too often people dare not even vocalize this desire because it seems absurd. It's like thinking the unthinkable. After all, the farm population is dwindling. It takes too much capital to start. The pay is too low. The working conditions are dusty, smelly and noisy: Not the place to raise a family. This is all true, and more, for most farmers.

Story
Poultry meat, and especially chicken, has been heavily analyzed these last few years, and the results were defeating. It turns out, most chicken farms use a lot of antibiotics and other drugs to stimulate growth, fatten the animals up, and ultimately make more profit. Eating that meat, poisoned with chemicals, can seriously damage your health and even cause cancer. So, what can you do? Have your own chicken farm!

The use of these nontraditional agricultural techniques show how varied operations can give back to the earth rather than degrade it.

Call it "Zen and the Art of Farming" or a "Little Green Book", Masanobu Fukuoka's manifesto about farming, eating, and the limits of human knowledge presents a radical challenge to the global systems we rely on for our food. At the same time, it is a spiritual memoir of a man whose innovative system of cultivating the earth reflects a deep faith in the wholeness and balance of the natural world. As Wendell Berry writes in his preface, the book "is valuable to us because it is at once practical and philosophical."

Surprise
The sublime success of my permaculture garden rests on this book. I realized I made so many wrong steps the previous years and luckily, thanks to this manual, I could fix them all, each of the contents was discussed distinctively and satisfactorily. The most helpful part for me was ‘Building a terrace system’; I’ve been looking for a good guide on this argument for so long, and finally I found one. I was also able to study food crops very well with the help of this book. I really like also the Bonus Chapters. Thanks!!

Exactly 25 fake reviews - Audible has to intervene
Fake reviews on Audible generally seem to be in blocks of 25 or 50 and posted within a few days of each other. All 25 are 5 star and generally vague cut and paste efforts from other generic reviews.
The narrator mispronounces so many words and generally sounds like he has little comprehension of what he's saying yet no one felt compelled to mention this? ...well because they're not real. Audible needs to crack down on self publishing authors like this who engage in this sort of activity; it overshadows those who take the time to write genuine and thoughtful reviews.

Fantastic resource
I was able to benefit from using animals in my permaculture garden, I used to focus on plants alone before, but after studying this book, I learnt how to introduce them in a healthy way into my garden. The steps in the book were very effective and I was able to monitor both the plants and the animals. These are just some of the many benefits I got form going through this manual; I highlighted these few because they contributed more to the success of my garden. I believe the contents will impress you and lead to a positive change in your garden.
