Publisher's Summary

In his second book in the Perfecting the Saints series, Jonathan Hollis expounds powerful biblical revelation and commentary from the book of James, designed to edify and build the believer's faith and relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ and thereby supplement and strengthen their walk with the savior. With keen insight and detailed instruction provided to encourage, admonish, and exhort believers to seek and love Jesus Christ with all their heart, soul, mind, and strength, this book contains valuable insights gleaned from the book of James.

In this book, the Epistle of James is provided in order preserve the epistle and for the convenience of the student. Scripture cross references are provided in relation to the biblical text to enrich the Bible student's study and meditation of God's word for the purpose of walking out revelation and living the truths learned in Christ Jesus.

Being a great companion study guide and an inspirational work of biblical revelation, intended to enhance and grow the believer's knowledge in Christ Jesus, this book will make a valuable addition to the Bible-believing student's library. With much hope, the truth herein will aid in setting people free in the Lord Jesus Christ, as it is written, "Then said Jesus unto the Jews which believed on him, if you continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed: and ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free" (John 8:31-32).

Bad narrator

the story the teaching was wonderful. I love what I heard as a teaching, but I had a hard time with the reader, he read like a first grader, horrible he would read one two three words at a time with no expressions, he missed pronounce words, mispronounced names and places. I will never buy another book if Trevor Clinger is the narrator. Maybe he's not a Christian and that's why he read like that, but I was very very disappointed.

Horrible narration

I can't comment on the content because the narration is so horrible. The narrator pauses every 3 or 4 words as if they can't really read out loud at a grade school level. it's HORRIBLE. I was so looking forward to this book and then so let down. Please don't buy this book until they remake it.

Liked the story, hated the narration

What did you like best about Perfecting the Saints: Bible Study and Commentary on the Book of James? What did you like least?

The best thing about the book was the title and the scripture.

What other book might you compare Perfecting the Saints: Bible Study and Commentary on the Book of James to and why?

If it's about content, I would compare it to "The First Corinthian Church.

How did the narrator detract from the book?

The narrator read the script like a person just learning to read. This could have been such a good Bible Study book if they had chosen a reader who made it come alive.

Was Perfecting the Saints: Bible Study and Commentary on the Book of James worth the listening time?

The Bible and study materials are always worth the listening time. I ordered one and two, but was only able to endure the first.

Any additional comments?

I wish I could get my money back from this purchase. But it serves me right for not listening to a sample before buying.

NARRATOR RUINS AUTHORS HARD WORK!

I have listened to many audio books. This NARRATOR is the worst. Mr Clinger's use, apparently, of a computer generated voice simulator completely distracts, destroys, and confuses listener. If I was author I would demand remake with a new Christian narrator.

Can’t even listen

The author does a good job cross referencing, but that’s all he does.
The narrator was horrible! I couldn’t even finish the book!

Narration Needs Improvement

Reading the Kindle version might be a better experience. The content is orderly, but it is difficult to follow in the Audible format. It is the first Audible book with which I've had this experience.

The Narrator Is Pathetic

I couldn't listen to this book. Something that should have been encouraging and uplifting was not worth listening to. The narrator can't read and has difficulty pronouncing words. His start and stop - stunted method of reading is sad. I won't get another book with him narrating.

Poor beginning which doesn't reflect the content - hopefully!

This is a very poorly edited book (understatement - I don't think that it was edited or had any production standards at all)! It has just the bog standard disclaimers: i.e. Stating that the work is fictional and the persons mentioned are a figment of the author's imagination!! (I'm assuming that the author or the Publisher do not believe this study to be fictional). Well! If that were the only off putting thing, I may have persevered with this study, but...

Please don't just take my word for it - listen to the sample reading. It appears to be a recording of Kindle reading the book! It is TOTALLY ROBOTIC! It is Not being narrated at all! As such, there is no way that you can proceed with this as a study!

I've never encountered an Audiobook that was So Badly Presented! And I refuse to pay any money for this very poorly presented audio. I have no comment on the content, because I can't assess it, based on its delivery.

Do. Not. Buy.

One of the most blessed Bible studies around.

Although the delivery takes a little getting used to, before too long one becomes focused on the message and a wonderfully in depth and straightforward study it is... And convicting. The Lord has so much work to do in this particular saint. I praise the Lord Jesus Christ for this brother's diligent service. I will listen to this again, God willing. Shalom Agape Amen
