Story
Ten years ago, The Harlequin Boys broke my heart. I thought my life was complete with them at my side, the five of us against the world, having each other’s backs no matter what the cost. I’d fight for them until my dying breath. It’s just a shame they didn’t feel the same. Once upon a time, my imperfect world shone bright with the light of four boys I would have killed for. This is the story of how they destroyed me.

When I decided to surprise my family in Wellhaven, Vermont, for Christmas, I never could have known that I'd get a surprise of my own. I haven't been home in four years, not since I left this town with my eyes set on adventure. And my heart set on forgetting the only man I’ve ever loved: River Jensen, my ex-husband. I don't plan on seeing him during my visit. I definitely don't plan on him saving me when my little rental car slides off the icy road. And the last thing I could have ever prepared for is being stuck in a tiny cabin with him, waiting out the storm.

Publisher's summary
No one should be alone for Christmas. At least, that’s what Evelyn Montgomery‘s parents always told her. So when she finds herself very alone for the festive holiday, she decides to book a weekend at Sutton Lake.
It’s there, in a whirlwind of fate, that she meets Jonathan, her gorgeous, albeit grumpy, neighbor across the lake, who also happens to be spending Christmas alone.
After sharing the weekend together, they part ways, but when she leaves, Evelyn realizes maybe parting ways isn’t what she wants at all.
Returning to Sutton Lake to find him, she discovers that not everything about that Christmas weekend was as it seemed. Jonathan is nowhere to be found, and no one from the town remembers her from her visit just one week ago.
Doubting herself, Evelyn wonders if she made it all up.
Was her trip to Sutton Lake just a dream?
And if it was, maybe that means Jonathan was just a figment of her peppermint wishes.

Grace Evans, an overworked New Yorker looking for a total escape from her busy life, books an Airbnb on a ranch in the middle of Wyoming. When she arrives at the idyllic getaway, she’s pleased to find that the owner is a handsome man by the name of Calvin Wells—and he’s eager to introduce her to his easygoing way of life. But there are things Grace discovers that she’s not too pleased about: a lack of cell phone service. A missing woman. And a feeling that something isn’t right with the ranch.

Story
In the heart of the South Pacific lies Point Nemo, the most desolate and remote place on Earth. At its core is a dead zone, devoid of life, where government agencies crash their obsolete satellites and space stations, confident they won't harm a soul. When the International Space Station suffers a catastrophic failure and plummets through the atmosphere, it's here that Mission Specialist Julie Rohr, an astrobiologist studying living space dust called xylem, finds herself marooned. Julie's only hope for rescue lies in the hands of her estranged father, Dr. Finn Maddern, a renowned mycologist.

Story
The doorbell rings, just days after my beloved husband’s sudden death. I don’t recognise the woman on our doorstep, with her blonde highlights, a diamond bracelet identical to my own and a bouncing baby boy in her arms. As I show her inside, I notice her eyes grow wide as she takes in our spacious hallway, and the big squashy sofas that we all used to pile on. She glances at the silver-framed family photos and my little daughter hiding behind my skirts. She looks at me, her blue eyes serious. ‘I’m sorry’ she says. ‘I am your husband’s girlfriend. And this is his son.'

Story
When the call came it seemed like the answer to my prayers. My career as a voice actor had been over for months and me and my little girl Scarlet were living back at my mum’s place. I felt like a failure professionally—and with Scarlet having problems at school, as a parent as well. So, when I was asked to narrate a new book by disappeared novelist Philippa Roberts I jumped at the chance, even if it meant leaving Scarlet with my ex, Hugo, for a few weeks. Hugo, with his perfect new home and his perfect new girlfriend Saskia. But this isn’t a dream come true. It’s a nightmare.

Story
The modern audience hasn't had a chance to truly appreciate the unknowing dread that readers would have felt when reading Bram Stoker's original 1897 manuscript. Most modern productions employ campiness or sound effects to try to bring back that gothic tension, but we've tried something different. By returning to Stoker's original storytelling structure - a series of letters and journal entries voiced by Jonathan Harker, Dr. Van Helsing, and other characters - with an all-star cast of narrators, we've sought to recapture its originally intended horror and power.

Omg gut twister
Omg this was amazing, Join the story as Evelyn decides to take a break from her misfortunes to have the most steamy, fun weekend over Christmas, to then have that romance and fuzzy feeling ripped from you, to then be thrown a curve ball as her reality bends, and she has to decide which path to follow and will there be a happy ending.
I am so surprised at how many feels I got from this book and litteral LOL.
I highly recommend.

Tear Worthy Perfection!
Evelyn and Jonathan, they met by chance one Christmas, a Christmas when neither should have been alone …. It was magical, until fate intervened and nothing was as it seemed! Beautifully written, packed with emotion, and blissfully, beautifully heated, “Peppermint Wishes” is tear worthy, stunning perfection! This story is truly beautiful, and had THIS listener crying, sobbing big ugly tears in the best possible way! I can’t give details without including huge spoilers, but that twist, oh holy wow, perfection! So perfect, so magical! Now I’ll hush! Moving on… I loved the characters! Every single one, beautifully defined, beautifully human! The lines they spoke resonated as true. The stunningly, lifelike narration conveying emotion beautifully and brilliantly! The “mood” and feel of the story, sometimes haunting, at others joyful, brought out so clearly and cleverly by vocal nuances adding so much depth, and clearly bringing the author’s vision to vibrant life! I loved every single second of this holiday story. Five stunning stars!

Christmas with a twist
Peppermint Wishes
By: D.L. Darby
Narrated by: Sadie Provost
4 STARS
Evelyn is going through a divorce. She chooses to go to Sutton Lake for Christmas, while cleaning out her parents house. While she’s there she meets Jonathon, a grumpy neighbor. He is also alone. They end up spending time together.
From there the story takes some strange turns. How will it end? Listen to find out.
The narration was well done, by Sadie Provost. She gave the female protagonist just the right amount of snark.
