Publisher's Summary

This is the fourth book in the Pepper Jones series, which should be listened to in order.

The first three books in the series may be purchased as a box set for a discounted price, under the title “The Pepper Jones Collection.”

Pepper’s freshman year at college is a harder transition than she anticipated. Uncertain of her coach’s expectations or her place amongst her new teammates, she struggles to redefine her running goals and identity on the cross country team. Pepper’s steady relationship with Jace should be a source of comfort as she navigates the college social environment, but an unexpected event throws everything between them off track. Also, hear from Jace’s point of view for the first time ever. Growing up is hard, and when you’re Pepper Jones, running may be the only way to help you get through it.

Must Bring Tissues

I certainly will not give out any spoilers, but you will likely need tissues for this one if you have come to love these characters as much as I have. Once again, Ms. Dean provides a wonderful story about coming of age.

Something I’ve noticed four books in that I really appreciate is the way Ms. Dean provides backstory from the previous books. She provides the facts, but she also reiterates the life lesson and the difficulties that the character and those around them went through to get to this point. My favorite example of this is that in an earlier novel Pepper’s drink was spiked while she was out. Ms. Dean never passes up an opportunity to remind readers of this and to explain what and how Pepper is handling it now (getting her own drink, watching while someone she trusts makes her drink, etc.). As a mother it is very heartwarming to hear these lessons over and over and to know that the younger readers will hear them too.

I was provided with a free copy of this audio book for my honest review. The views expressed here are entirely my own.

Holy cow the emotions!!

Wow! I honestly wasn't sure if I could make it through this one. There were so many times that I wanted to smack the crap out of Jace! I hated the way he treated Pepper in this part of the story. I know he is having his issues with his mom and all but still. I loved how strong Pepper got though and put him where he belonged. Now to get book 5 and see how things go.

SwoonWorthy

I absolutely love this series! This one had me swooning, screaming, emotional at times, but left me smiling! I just love Jace and Pepper! Their chemistry is electric! I will be listening to this series more than one for sure!

College, Sports, Struggles, Disappointments and Triumphants

Sometimes the angst goes on too long...sometimes men are portrayed as immature and faithless....sometimes it’s true, sometimes not.
Pepper proves to find her own strengths...the man in her life less so...
I enjoyed seeing Pepper find herself and learn she can find support, love and strength in many places and hurt need not damage you.
Well written story enhanced by a wonderful narrator.

♥️

Heartbreaking, there were times I wasn't even #teamjace. Peppers first year of college brings heartache, and change. Pepper certainly finds her inner strength. New friends and focus on track, Pepper couldn't have seen what was around the corner. I loved this, I hated it. I may or may not of even cried 😢 just a little. can't wait for the next one to come out on audio.

Another great book!

I really enjoyed this book and was excited to find that it is part of a series. Ali Dean was a great author- I loved the characters and plot line. Stacey Glemboski was a pleasure to listen to as well. (I have really enjoyed her Sundaes for Breakfast series, so was excited to see her name again.) Looks like I read this one out of order, but now I can't wait to read the first three. I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.

idk why I love Frankie so much?

I'm not going to lie, I struggled a little on this one, because Jace pissed me off 😂 I still love him, though. Pretty realistic college vibe. I absolutely love Lexie and Frankie.

Well, hell

i really didn't see that coming. no spoilers here, just gonna say Jace is no longer my fave person. while Pepper grew in her emotions and feelings in this book i think Jace back tracked. it was hard to listen to.

we meet some new and fun people this go around but our faves are still around though not as much. Pepper goes through a number of trials in this book and i think in the end has grown into a better person for it. maybe not a happier person but a better one.

something else i really liked in this book was that we get to hear from Jace's POV for the first time. i love hearing the male's POV. it helps ease the way he acts by understanding his reasoning for it. though i so don't agree. lol, just saying.

can't wait until the next one is release on audible.

i received a copy of this book for free from the author for my honest review.

Pep Talks

Pepper Jones is now in her freshman year at college and the story continues. I love how we’re able to catch up on the relationships that we learned about in the first three books, but we’re also introduced to a whole bunch of new characters. Pepper is forced to deal with new situations that will either break her, or make her that much stronger...

Ali Dean is doing a fantastic job with writing this series. I will be really sad when it’s over as I’ve really come to care for these characters.

The narration by Stacey Glemboski was great, as usual.

Loved it!

I’ve disliked Jace in the beginning of the series, then I loved him, and now I’m back to disliking him again. Jace has been through a lot in this one. Mix that with him not being able to deal with his emotions properly equals him being a jerk to the ones who always has his back.

I really enjoyed Pepper in this one. Even though my heart breaks for her, she is resilient and I love watching her realize she’s going to be ok regardless of what happens.

Although I dislike Jace at the moment I’m really rooting for Pepper & him.

I also really like that the author touch on something that a lot of young women deal with, eating disorders. I hope that anyone who listens/reads this book can use it as motivation to get help/open up to someone.

Overall, I really enjoyed Pep Talks and I look for to listening to the next one!
