Publisher's summary

The Pitbull of Personal Development? and New York Times best-selling author is back with advice on the dumb things people do to sabotage their success.

What do people really want? They want what they've got. It's a simple formula. You have what you want because your actions produced your results. Not your words, and certainly not your wants.

In his signature caustic yet lovable style, Larry Winget dishes out straight talk on what he calls "life's messes," and offers sound, simple solutions. Taking on business, family, health, being fat, being stupid, success, money, and more, Larry Winget points out exactly which changes have to take place in order for people to turn their lives around.

A little bit of business, a little bit of personal development, a little finance, a little parenting, a little health and wellness, People Are Idiots and I Can Prove It! will help anyone identify their own "areas of stupidity" and take action to finally achieve real success.

Prioritization and Ownership of Success/Failure

The main content of the book can be summed up in my title. It's a good exercise in looking at priorities in life, and he hits the concept of self efficacy (I am the biggest factor in degree of success/failure I experience).

His way of selling the concepts is a fun approach.

he totally pissed me off

and I couldn't stop listening, except when I was making the lists he tells you to write. Yes we are ALL idiots and the goal is the do it less often. I was so happy when he brought up a topic I was already doing and kicking myself when the next section was something I never thought of. He really doesn???t tell anyone anything new but he tells it like it is and helped me keep working on improving myself.

If you read "Get out of your own way" you'll find this book is mostly the same content.

Tough Love

Sometimes you need people to organize thoughts for you, sometimes you need Toughlove, sometimes you need a kick in the ass!

I have listened to this book twice, and will most likely go buy the book so I can go back through it and pick out the parts that I want to commit to writing!

This book is a great read, especially if you really listen to it and take it to heart!

Larry’s approach is like target focused training which is a training system for personal defense!

This book is your training system against disaster in almost any portion of your life!

Eye opener

What made the experience of listening to People Are Idiots and I Can Prove It! the most enjoyable?

Once Larry gets past putting everyone in the world down he breaks things into chapters. While I can't wear stillettos I appreciate that one should look for qualities in a mate that are compatible with their likes and dislikes. Wish I had this book 25 years ago!

Who was your favorite character and why?

Some of the idiots he describes. The ones that annoy everybody. Especially on planes and in restaurants.

Which character ??? as performed by Larry Winget ??? was your favorite?

Larry Winget. Once you listen, I need say no more.

What did you learn from People Are Idiots and I Can Prove It! that you would use in your daily life?

A ton of stuff! The people I hang out with, mostly.

Any additional comments?

I wish he would narrate ALL of his books. I love the two I have.

Well we know that.

Good book but not a lot of new info if you've been in the field. If you haven't then it'll be enlightening.
