Book 3

What did you love best about Peete and Repeat?

The characters have always been comfortable with each other, and now their roles as characters are equally so. The humor is great , and the mystery and daily camping activities blend well. Great read/listen.

It will draw you in and delight you

My boyfriend got upset with me for listening to this book.
You see, he was messaging me to bring food and I didn't notice, because there is a murder and Frannie has a hunch on who did it and she may be in danger aaaaand the story just completely sucked me in. So I bought him food and two extra Kinder chocolate bars to appease him. He's delightfully cranky when he's hungry :)

Well anyway, this story is how I picture the Famous Five as pensioners. Going on adventures in their trailers, unmistakably running into mysteries. I liked the writing and the story a lot. I was just surprised when it ended. It may benefit from a stronger reveal. Hercule Poirot style, maybe :)

Easy writing, good plotting, quirky characters, a wonderful narrator. It's got everything a cozy mystery should have. Somebody should film this series :D

I was provided this audiobook at no charge by the author, publisher and/or narrator in exchange for an unbiased review via Audiobook Boom.

Don't miss this!

Read on September 24, 2016

Group of retired friends take their trailers to a familiar campground and get involved in a murder investigation. All of the characters are totally believable, and so are their interactions. The weaving of the background of those who become the victims is not seamless, but it works anyway. It was good, and the length was perfect!
I have the audio version, and Michelle Babb is perfect in portraying each character and the narratives.

RVing is not for the Faint of Heart

Where does Peete and Repeat rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

Is it Shakespeare? Is it Michael Connelly? No, it isn't... but, that's not a bad thing! This is well plotted, with characters that you become very fond of throughout the outstanding series. Mystery that itches to be solved. Settings and circumstances that call out to me, anyway.

What other book might you compare Peete and Repeat to and why?

The other books in the Frannie Shoemaker series.

What about Michelle Babb’s performance did you like?

Michelle appropriately keeps the story and characters moving. I can visualize the action taking place. Her voice work adds to and doesn't detract from a listener's enjoyment.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

Fishing pole, check... camping stove, check... body bags, check...

Any additional comments?

I have many of this series on my Kindle as e books. The audio versions are all well done and my suggestion is, if you enjoy light mysteries, to check this series out.

Thanks for the opportunity to listen and review!

Here we go again!

This cozy mystery will keep you guessing which all the potential suspects. Just another camping trip for Frannie and her friends until it turns into so much more! Well written, and lots of action.
The narrator did an excellent job of giving the characters a well rounded personality with the voices she performed. Her talents bring a good story to life.

Peete and Repeat

Frannie and the gang are out camping again, this time in Minnesota where they intend to bike all around the area. But after a canoeing accident that has put Frannie out of commission for a while it only gives her time to think about the two dead bodies that were found and what happened to them.

I have fallen in love with these Frannie books, to the point I have to ration out the audios to myself, yep I got the audios narrated by the wonderful Michelle Babb. She does such a great job and her voice is Frannie to me now. These books have enough suspense and action to go around a whole campsite. Not to mention Frannie's curiosity would scare a lot of kitties straight. But there is always a bit of humor thrown in as well, and this all together is what makes these awesome books so special.

Camping should be more relaxing, not murderous!

In the Frannie Shoemaker mystery series by Karen Musser Nortman, Frannie, her husband, inlaws and friends camp together and enjoy the great outdoors. However, there is always a murder mystery to resolve. Specifically, a set of identical twins end up dead in very suspicious circumstances. I was actually sad that the twin(s) were the victims. I thought it would’ve been someone else. The story was well written and the characters were realistic. The narration by Michelle Babb was excellent. Her performance was clear and her voices of the characterized made the book very easy and I enjoyed it every much,

Still enjoying this series

This is the 3rd book in this series and I am still enjoying the series very much. In this book the campers find more bodies and Frannie and friends can't help but try to solve the double murder. I love the camping aspects of the books. The details are realistic and it provides for some fun characters to be added to the mix in each new book/campground. I suspected the murder before the end, but there were enough details about others thrown in that it kept it interesting. I think one of my favorite things about these books are the characterizations. The camping friends, the authorities, the sometimes wacky camp guests, etc. are all very well developed and make the story very enjoyable. I really enjoy Michelle Babb's narrations.

I was provided with a copy of this book in exchange for a fair and impartial review, which I have provided. I am enjoying this series so much that I am heading out to buy the next book in the series and am looking forward to continuing the journey with Frannie and friends.

Ok but not one of her best

I enjoy these stories , I have a campervan so I can relate to the bits involved with it.I have enjoyed her books but found this one seemed to get bogged down in the middle a bit with characters doing things that didn't make sense . A minor point ,but that won't stop me from reading the next one!

Campground

I did enjoy listening to Michelle Babb , she brings another story to life. She makes listening to the story an enjoyable experience

I found my self wanting to listen to this story straight away. The characters are human with flaws. The story starts with a flat tire, From falling into a river , shoes too small the humour is a great extra.

A superior mystery

I am loving this series, An excellent mystery with fun, well described and likeable lead characters. On one hand the murderer was obvious on the other how it was done is cleverly shown and there are several other side stories that make you doubt your conclusion. An interesting little twist at the end. The narration really brings the characters to life and adds to the enjoyment of the story.

Well narrated cosy mystery

The characters find murder in yet another campground. This series is not for nervous campers!! The plot progresses in a fairly predictable fashion, with the desire to shout at the detective to figure it out already quite strong at times. There is a definite attempt at plot twists and red herrings in this one —- but they come a bit late in the plot to make them plausible. The revisiting of the characters and the humorous foibles they exhibit along the way make this book. Narration was well suited to the story and main character. Good pace and lots of expression. I received this audiobook for free in exchange for a review.
