This is a classic southern gothic novel. The writing is creative , spooky and entertaining. The performance by Daryl Lisa Fazio is the icing on the cake. I loved it all.

The story, masterfully crafted and narrated by the author, held me captive until the end.

Surprisingly beautiful

My first review - that’s how good I think this is. The narration draws you in at once- her voice like a little buttered biscuit of an eccentric in a modern Southern Gothic play. The story is compelling, with strong themes of intergenerational family transmission of loss, grief, racism and love. And who doesn’t need a murder mystery set amongst the supernatural background of the Deep South? I wouldn’t call this a feel good story necessarily, but you will feel and maybe be the better for it.
