What could possibly go wrong? A fuel leak started only an hour into the flight. Then one system after another began to fail, creating a series of near-death experiences.

Worst of all, during refueling in Dakar, the #1 inside tank split open, spraying fuel all over Robert and leaving a smelly, oily, toxic mess sloshing around under the floorboards. Then COVID hit, and living in lockdown in Spain became another challenge all its own.

Finding peace at 35000 feet is not for the faint of heart. Robert’s story is one for the ages and one I could not stop listening to. Great narration and out of this world narrative.
