Publisher's summary

Sandpoint used to be such a safe place to live - until the scarecrows started to walk. A series of grisly murders points to an undead killer. With Merisiel missing, Valeros, Harsk and Ezren must track the mysterious Skinsaw Man back to his haunted lair.

Can they survive vengeful spirits, necrotic guardians and assassin cults to discover the secrets of the ancient rune carved into each of the corpses? Or will death find them as they explore the dangerous streets of Magnimar?

A good follow-up

Well if you were curious where the story was going from the previous book then oh boy, more name dropping than the last one and some tasty foreboding portents.

Creepy and effective but still too short

Like chapter 1, I really enjoyed the story and performances, but it needed to be longer! It felt rushed at many points and I felt like it needed more time to get the characters where they end up.

again great but the ending

why is their 10 minuets of music at the end its nice but it feels like a chip for an audio book of an hour to have 15 minuets of music total with no talking. outside that great story. very true to the adventure path while still doing their own thing. love it keep it up!

Way too short for price, about $80 all episodes

This review is for all six episodes, I made the mistake of buying them all at once. The voice acting is really good. The story is ok also, and if you like epic fantasy you might like it. The problem is all the action sound effects start to leave the listener with very little clue as to what's going on. Of course that is difficult to do right in audio dramas, but when almost half your story is clanking swords, grunts, and screams, it's hard to keep track of what's going on especially when scenes switch multiple times in the middle of a battle but you can't tell until someone finally talks.
The worse (and what made me return them) is that the last two chapters of EVERY book is only music. So around 10 minutes of music added at the end too pad out the length and make it seem longer (some even have minutes of music at the beginning also). And to get the whole story cost about $80 bucks, or 6 credits. It would be worth it if they were combined into one collection, maybe even two, but as is they should at least be honest about the run length.
