Not much goes on over the summer in the small town of Parrish Cove. For fourteen-year-old Aidan Reynolds, the only thing keeping him from boredom is the archaeological excavation going on at the local historical society. When he meets a new and mysterious girl named Maddie, he is sure that his summer is going to become more exciting.

Aidan should also be more careful about what he wishes for. As the excavation progresses, the historical society discovers a well long left buried, along with the mysterious artifacts buried inside. What they discover will change Aidan, Maddie, and the town of Parrish Cove forever.

Maddie just moved to the small coastal New England town of Parrish Cove. When she meets Aiden at the recent archaeological dig, she's convinced that the historical society is haunted and the dig is only going to make it worse. As Aiden and Maddie dive into the forgotten history of Parrish Cove over the summer, they uncover a secret that many have fought to keep hidden. Through determination the duo confront a forgotten well, an abandoned sanatorium, a lighthouse built to hide something sinister, a dying town, haunted harbors, cultists, and unreasonable parents.
