MacKenzie Palumbo grew up in Ohio with dreams of becoming a ballerina. Dean Bennett itched to get out of the shadow of his charismatic twin brother and shine as in the world of TV comedy writing. Pas De Deux follows the parallel lives of MacKenzie, a professional ballet dancer, and Dean, a successful sitcom writer, through their early years, professional careers, marriages, divorces, and eventual "meet cute" in their forties.
As MacKenzie advances from young ballet student to junior dance competitions to professional ballerina, the story explores her feelings, fears, excitement, and adventures through her journey from small-town Ohio to performing on the great stages of Europe.
At the same time, Dean, a runt twin from Toronto, breaks into the television industry and rises to write for a hit comedy series and date its sexy star. But as their individual careers peak, their personal lives crater, leading them to a midlife "second act" and to each other.
And when an unexpected twist in MacKenzie's past throws her entire dance career into question, the men in her life join together to solve the puzzle of the mysterious ballet fan that unravels a surprising tale of international espionage and political suspense.
