Publisher's Summary

A story of friendship, video games, and epic badassery.

Before the online game Carpe Noctem hit the market, the average person wasted a third of their life sleeping. Now, instead of lying in bed dreaming about showing up late to class in their underwear, players step into a breathtaking world of fantasy and adventure. For most users, this is a dream come true. For players like MaxDamage24 and his sidekick Kirabell, it is about to become something else.

After being fired, one of Noctem’s creators sets into motion a plan to bring the system crashing down. To stop the collapse, Max and Kira will have to gather their most trusted friends and embark on a quest that will push them to their absolute limits. Together they’ll face creepy dungeons, impossible bosses, and their own nightmares, all while doing their best to stay alive. With a mission this big, none of them will be the same after. The real question is…how much will they be forced to change?

Only one thing is certain - if they want to survive, they’re gonna have to Party Hard.

It’s like my game night was put into a book

The characters in this book are amazing, they feel so real I would swear they were based off my own friends. And Luke Daniels does a great job bringing them to life
My only complaint is that it started off a little slow, but the first fight scene made it worth the slight wait.
If you enjoy witty banter, comedic scenes, and tear jerking moments then you will want this book!

FANTASTIC LITRPG!!!!!!

I was given this free review copy audio book at my request and have voluntarily left this review.

So, I have to say, this was one of the best LitRPGs I've listened to lately. It had heart, it had a good story, it was funny... I really liked the characters, especially Kirabell. I thought the author did an amazing job creating depth for the characters and making them very engaging. The world building was also done very well. The icing on this LitRPG cake, though, was Luke Daniels. His narration is so good. He really brings books to life in your imagination and grasps your imagination in a death grip that keeps you listening until the very end. I REALLY hope the next book comes out fast so I can continue this series!

Great book for a gamer who wants a solid story

Excellent narration, lovable characters, and edge-of-your-seat action! These are just a few ways I would encapsulate this audiobook. I previously purchased it on Kindle but I don't have a lot of time to read. I have seamlessly powered through several chapters and I can't wait to see where the story takes its characters. This is the first time I've heard Luke Daniels narrate and he's SO good! He goes out of his way to give each character a unique voice in a way that brings them to them life. The author's writing makes the characters feel relatable and fun, and the moments where they struggle, I find myself hurting along with them. Listen to this book if you want a great story and unforgettable adventure.

A story of questing, action, and working as a party!

This is a great story that is action pack, fun, and developed extremely well. The characters All have individual personalities and feel very real. Very much a group I would hang out with. They have to go on an epic quest of a life time in large game system that unlike some books I’ve read is really solid and something that I’d actually really enjoy being in!

I am a Luke Daniels fan... and he did a great job. His delivery really brings out the writer’s ability and showcases the dialogue, action, and friendships really well.

A good time...

A fantastic, fun, forward-thinking novel. In a genre that is rife with cookie cutter characters, the author instead creates legitimately engaging characters with motives and history that make them as tangible and relatable as their IRL personas. While still being a solid LitRPG book, the narrative doesn't get hung up by stats and jargon that make many LitRPG stories unapproachable for readers who aren't swimming in the deep end of gaming but there's plenty of references and style for the avid gamer to immersive themselves in. The world building is comprehensive and the narrative packs in plenty of twists, turns and intrigue. Not to be cliché but in this story, it's not about winning but it's how (and why) you play the game...and I love it.

When it's time to party

I have read quite a few LitRPG books. Most use some type of VR technology to tell their story. Party Hard, by far, has the most unique version of this. If someone could invent this, they would make a vast fortune immediately.

The story takes place three and a half years into the game's lifespan. Max and Kira are high level characters that have earned a reputation for taking out the strongest challenges that the game offers. Suddenly, they get an invitation from the game's infamous designer.

They come to learn that there is a new quest that they need to undertake for the fate of the game that they love and all of the people that now make their livings off of this game. The quest they undertake will be the hardest that they have ever encountered!

The story is very told and it gets surprisingly deep on several occasions. Party Hard is a fantastic start to a very promising series. As always, Luke Daniels does an amazing job bringing all of the characters to life!

Note: There is very limited use of language in this story.

Very fun listen!

Enjoyable gamelit style read, several characters are called on to save their "World" with adventure and jokes along the way. The deepest part of the story was the discussion of gender and what that means, it comes out of the left field a few times and is surprising how cutting it could be. If you are looking for a fun easy fantasy read that dissects gender norms I definitely recommend.

Also, there is a brothel scene that is very well written and had me in tears because I was laughing so hard. I would honestly recommend the book on that alone.

Great story

I really enjoyed this and Luke did amazing as usual. I would have preferred a bit more info in the skills and stats but it was still fun.

Another good addition for the LitRPG genre

Great fun read. Another addition of the LitRPG genre that I recently discovered.
A small quest becomes a world ending scenario that a group of recent friends have to face and find out what's important.
I hope to get more details on the technology that drives this dreamworld as its not explained well enough for my taste on the first book. Otherwise, it's light and entertaining while keeping you asking for more quests and stories on what's looking like another series to follow.
The amazing Luke Daniels narration is a must.

An enjoyable story

I went into this book not knowing what to expect, I was just following the narrator about. I found this book to be very entertaining and in my case laugh out loud funny, which is interesting when you have headphones on at work.
As you would expect the narrator is awesome, Luke Daniels does a great job of bringing the story alive.
The story was great, found myself not wanting to stop listening.
Looking forward to the next installment.
