Publisher's summary

A one-time bad girl comes home to small-town Oregon in the first in a sexy, heartfelt new series from USA Today best-selling author Maisey Yates

Sadie Miller isn't expecting any welcome-home parades on her return to Copper Ridge. Least of all from part-time rancher, full-time lawman Eli Garrett. The straitlaced, impossibly hot deputy sheriff glares at her as if she's the same teenage hoodlum who fled town 10 years ago. But running from her demons has brought Sadie full circle, ready to make a commitment at last. Not to a man but to a bed-and-breakfast. On Garrett land. Okay, so her plan has a tiny flaw.

Eli works too hard to let a blonde ball of trouble mess up his town. But keeping an eye on Sadie makes it tough to keep his hands off her. And if she's so wrong for him, why does being with her feel so right?

Satisfying

I had a little trouble getting into the book at first. The first few chapters the animosity between the two main characters was annoying. I didn't feel any connection with any of the characters initially. Once firmly into the book, the two main characters softened becoming more vulnerable and easier to relate to. In the end 80 satisfying book with some added steam. :)

Loved it!

What did you love best about Part Time Cowboy?

I love ornery and stubborn Eli who fights with himself after encountering his potential girlfriend or wife, (even tho he has not got that far in his mind). I think it is so cute and funny because I know he will fall in the end. Eli has to deal with so much in his life, having to have order in his life and feels he has to take care of everybody and no time for love. I love traveling the road with him as he evolves into the man he eventually does.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Part Time Cowboy?

Loved the end where Sadie is confronted by the Chamber of Commerce woman, who gives her food for thought and the following scenes where Eli and Sadie come to the same realization, their true feelings for each other.

What does Lillian Thayer bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

I think I have listened to her before and I knew from the first chapter that I would really enjoy the audio book because I love her voice. Time just flew during the almost 10 hour book, read it in one sitting. Lillian did a fantastic job, loved her way with both male and female voices. I really felt like I had just watched a movie. The author wrote a great book but the narrator just made it even better.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

It was so sad when the barn burned down, felt so sorry for Connor but hated that Eli had a change of heart.

Heartwarming and easy to listen to. The book flowed with ease. Nothing too steamy but overall a great listen!

Not a great story and I wish I had saved the credit

This book may have been better if I'd just read it myself instead of listening to it. I don't feel like the narrator's voice matched the age or playfulness of the characters. She didn't do a good job of imitating the banter between the characters so it was really more boring and monotone than anything.

Endearing and Sweet

This was a very easy to listen to story. There was just enough heat, angst and drama to make this book interesting enough to listen to. If you're looking for good listen for a calm afternoon, this is your book.

The narrator is pleasant enough to make this an enjoyable listen.

It is worth the discounted price I paid. Not sure if I will continue with the series.

good Storyline

What made the experience of listening to Part Time Cowboy the most enjoyable?

I enjoyed the story line but I wish I had read the book instead. The narrator sounded to mature. I felt like I was listening to someone my mothers age talking about sex, not enjoyable to me.

What didn’t you like about Lillian Thayer’s performance?

Her voice was too mature to be reading this type of book.
