Publisher's summary

Liam Hoffen and Nick James are back in the next, exciting installment of Jamie McFarlane's Privateer Tales.

After fighting space pirates and rescuing a damsel in distress, nothing sounds better than shore leave at Puskar Stellar on Mars where Liam can reconnect with his girlfriend. But neither their newest crew member, Marny, nor the Mars Protectorate Navy is ready for them to spend much time relaxing.

Their old nemesis, Harry Flark, found a new mining station to pillage and the crew of Sterra's Gift has been hired to transport a covert operative into Flark's lair. This is the perfect opportunity for them to set things right if it helps to bring him down. The big problem comes when Liam and Nick discover Flark is expecting them and has no intention of letting them get away with their lives.

Like white knights on silver steeds, Liam, Nick, Marny and a passel of new friends fight their way across the solar system, making a name for themselves and their mission.

Just a Great Series

I reviewed the first book in this series and my opinion hasn't changed... This is a really great series and I can't wait to listen to the next audiobook.

I skipped the short story in between the first book and this one, but it didn't seem to be directly related to the main characters, so I went straight to this one.

Our two heroes continue their adventures, and this time have even more exciting battles and skirmishes than when we last left off... Stopping two pirate attacks and smuggling a spy into enemy territory undercover is only the beginning of this very well written story.

Again, narration is very good and I couldn't ask for much more.

5 stars!

Author continues to let murderers and rapists go.

The MC is stupid AF and has some retarded chivalry crap going. He let's pirates fire on them first when neither ship has shields. in other words whoever hits first likely dies. It's just disgusting. The author writes some stupid Authurian BS when the enemy is a pirate, over and over again.

Tha author brings the subject of murder, prostitution and rape into his books and then writes this leave it to beaver BS into his MC like he's pushing for a pg rating.

Just disgusting....

Good fun!

Again, Mr. McFarlane produced a very nice story.

And, again, Mr. Naramore did an excellent performance, except for one small, annoying bit.

The Heads Up Display is abbreviated to HUD, not H-U-D. HUD rhymes with mud. He calls a laser a laser, saying the acronym as it's spelled.

On the plus side, he did properly pronounce klaxon this time.

Kinda short

Little short. 8hrs only. The author has a great series here, just needs to flesh it out more. some parts are filled with details, others are glossed over.

Shoot now!!!

What did you love best about Parley?

Shoot him now before he comes back 3 more times. Liked the story, but he's too much a pussy to be a real Heinlein hero. Shoot for the heart, Ohhh just winged him....ahhhhh.

Did Mikael Naramore do a good job differentiating all the characters? How?

No, female characters not good.

Another great space adventure!!!

This is a great series, though if you haven't read it yet start at #1 Rookie Privateer. The author does a fantastic job of developing interesting characters and fun space based adventures. This is such a great series that after reading 1-9, I am acquiring the audible versions to experience them again. Mikael Naramore is back narrating and doing a fine job of it. Read and/or listen to this, I promise you won't be disappointed.

Good story line but YA bordering on childish

The story line was quite good but the characters were pretty two dimensional and either 'good guys' or 'bad guys'. The main character has a phobia of women, he sleeps on the couch when his Marine cadet girlfriend stays over and gets tongue tied around most women. of course for this guy every female character is 'just stunning'.
